I can imagine! Can't tell you how many episodes of Lost and Prison Break I literally "heard"!!

Whenever there is no action and just dialog, I just minimize Kaffeine and do whatever I am was doing at that time....

There is a mencoder command that supposedly does the trick. It is a very long command and the encoding takes too long. I tried it the other day with no luck. Where I got this the said it worked with them. But I am sure there is a way, when you do movie editing, you can add whatever text you want to the film, so adding subtitles won't be a problem.

I guess it is possible then...Though I imagine it to be a VERY lenghty process. Is it worth all the hassle?

FYI I'm experimenting with dvd ripping lately and on my Intel Core Duo it takes about 6h to rip a whole movie (only using one cpu). It used to take longer, but with faster processors, it's starting to become manageable I think.

You're kidding... the last time I ripped a DVD was about a year ago, and the longest I recall it ever taking was less than 2 hours... :confused:
