Ok I assume you burned the CD and rebooted and got on LiveCD??

You should find an "install" icon on the Desktop within the LiveCD.

In short, yes. You won't be able to screw up your Windows partition during the Ubuntu install unless you:

1. Try really hard, OR
2. Have no common sense

This is very good, fool proof. If Ze messes it up, it's all his fault, according to #2.

Oh, when you reach the partitioning part, make sure you click on resize and not "erase all" or summat like that.. just in case you don't have common sense
