I think you can't beat blue on any desktop. That Mint screenshot you posted looks great but all in all I always tweak every distro with some blue theme.

On a side note, Ubuntu should really ditch the brown already. It is original, yes, but it's also ugly and boring as hell.

You guys always seem to be formatting systems...
Oh come on, you know there's nothing more refreshing  In fact I'm considering another one after I buy a ridiculously huge portable hard drive and transfer Everything. I. Have. onto it.

Oh, I haven't even looked around yet :) I just plan to go to the cyber markets and shop around. The bigger the better though

Doesn't a info pop-up show everytime you point to your HD in Konqueror?

And true, you can never have enough HD, right now I got 320gb + 250gb + one old 120gb which I use for backup storage.

Avoid the Seagate range, for some reason Feisty doesn't seem to work with it. I have the 320Gb variant, and I am not impressed with having to mount from the terminal each time I want to use it...

Though I never tried VMware, I don't feel you can try out a distro's full functionality with a liveCD or VMware. I think you need to make a HD install to use it the way it's meant to be used.

First off, chxta is right :p

The problem with vmware is only video. It doesn't support video accel, so you can't do xgl/beryl/3d games in it. Otherwise it's perfectly capable.

Capable, yes, but it doesn't show a system in optimum performance. I can't make a judgement of an OS without trying it in optimum performance, meaning of an HD. If I did I'd probably never install any distro because using the system in LiveCD mode is a pain in the ass.

Fair enough, but if it's fast in vmware it's gonna be fast in real time too, and vice versa. Might be a small difference, but not much.
