Watched most of the monaco game. We all know how super they are at countering and first half was a delight to watch especially mbappes goal. Second half monaco showed their weakness in defending corners and lyon were back in. Jardim tactically subbed falcao for moutinho later in the game to hang on and to be honest they hanged on with ease which shows they can defend when needed
Its probably the third time ive seen them play but like others have said they really are explosive for first 50-60 minutes and should have been 3 up by half time. They do have one way of playing which is advantageous to us so hopefully we got this.
:shifty:

Juventus - Genoa 20.45
Lyon - Monaco 21.15

Your right but Lyon manager did some rotation today starting only half the team who played full 120.
Yes but todays starting XI of Lyon was so mediocre...

Lopes - Rafael, Nkoulou, M.Diakhaby, Rybus - Tousart, Ferri, Darder - Cornet, Mateta, Depay

Yep. Lacazette, Tolisso, Valbuena, Gonalons and Fekir all rested or injured for this one too.
+ jallet, mammana, ghezzal were rested too. lyon basically played with their b-team, so no wonder monaco beat them.

btw i usually watch monaco's game, as a local channel covers ligue 1 extensively. they are pretty fun to watch, their attack is unpredictable, they are always dangerous with crosses, counters and dead balls (corners, free kicks). so basically when they have the ball, it might turn into a threat anytime. no wonder only barcelona and real scored more league goals in the top5 leagues.

their defense is mediocre, though. there are blackouts in every match, they don't really cope with pressure too well, so i'm glad that the away game comes first. i'm positive we'll score at least one away goal.

Are people seriously saying Monaco should've fielded the starting 11 that have been playing non-stop in 4 competitions since august 12, in a midweek cup game sandwiched between 2 important league games and just before the CL semis?
