Enough with him already. Let's go for players who are actually wanted and actually worth the money. Something Lamps is not.

If you're talking about Diego and VDV,then that's probably wishful thinking. Not to say that we shouldnt look for better players, but Lampard is probably the one world class midfielder(Yes,world class) player that we have a very good chance of signing.

World class and Lamps don't belong together so that just discredited your whole statement. You might as well have centered it.

I am not biased against the English. I have some favorite players who are English. So I am not using my English bias here on Lamps. I just don't see him as world class because that is a strong statement. I don't see him performing well for us and we need to make a better use of our options in the transfer market. I know a lot are wishful thinking but who knows? Lets not just totally discredit it. Does anyone else even want Lamps?? I'm not really hearing much about other teams running to try and get him from Chelsea but I could be wrong. I don't really frequent Lamps news articles as I am not a fan of him.

Barcelona want(ed) Lampard. And yes, Lampard is world class. Period. You may not be biased againt the English but you are biased againt Franky. you still have not stated a good reason for explaining why he is not WC. How can you think that a player that is an essiential memeber of chelsea's world class midfield, and is good enough that Barca wants him to play in their world claas midfield not good enough for us?

and if you still lack proof about him here is something else:

Lampard was chosen as FIFA world player of the year runner up (2005) European player of the year runner up (2005), football writers' association footballer of the year (2005), PFA fans player of the year (2005), he also broke the the record of most league goals scored for a midfielder the EPL in either 05 or 06.

Lampard is most definitely a valuable commodity and would slot in very well in Juventus.

The thing is, the list of world class football clubs with either a gaping hole in midfield or a desire to retool is pretty limited. To bring in a player of Lampard's stature and quality is to assure a starting 11 place for them come hell or high water, much like Trezeguet and Buffon here and to a lesser extent, Nedved and Camoranesi.

Juventus is the only one that really, really needs a midfield upgrade, since Nedved is more than likely retiring (with his actual swansong being Euro 2008), Zanetti (while doing awesome) isn't getting any younger, and the idea of playing a two-destroyer midfield in CL is concerning at best.

With the added burden of CL, I see no reason why Van der Vaart, Lampard, Marchisio and Giovinco would be unrealistic... seeing as Nedved, Olivera and Almiron are definitely out, and likely Tiago as well.

I will admit I am seriously biased against Lamps. I will not accept him ever as Juve player if he comes. Lamps might have been world class a while back but thats the past. I am never impressed with him with the recent games I have seen from the CL and the NT where he consistently under performs therefore I don't believe he is world class. I don't have statistics to back it up but last time I checked I am allowed to have my opinion on whether a player is world class no matter how absurd you might think it is. Not to mention the guy has a huge ego and will come with a pay check that will surpass most of our players if not all. What kind of atmosphere will that bring to the locker room? I don't see him being better than some of our players therefore he shouldn't be paid as much.
We do need a midfield 'upgrade' but I just don't see Lampard as the answer. Serie A currently has no English players that could mean something.

I am not going to argue all day about why I don't think Lamps belongs at Juve because there is not a single argument that would make me feel otherwise.

I respect your opinion. I'd just like to add that the main reason there is limited English talent outside of the FA is due to two reasons. One, there are a limited supply of top-tier English talent, and they want to keep it. Two, why would Italian, German or Spanish teams want marginal English players at a premium when they can sign marginal Italian/German/Spanish players for less and have more local talent?

Also, I don't see Lampard's ego being a problem. Juve boasts a very professional and experienced core. If they were able to put up with the likes of Ibrahimovic, Vieira and Emerson... they can deal with Lampard... especially if he delivers.

But if you don't like him, that's your right. Maybe if he does come, he might change your mind. I think his performance would be the only thing that could.

a midfield line of camo, zanetti, lampard and van der vaart is by no means impossible. in fact, if we want to be serious in the CL, we need such a line up.

you are right to have your opinion but people who know alot about soccer think otherwise. He is one of the top rated mids in the world in most top coaches mind (as they have said), was voted among the best players in the world and has statistics to back it up.

But we all have our own opinions... just they are not always correct :)

I couldn't agree less, Lamps won't add that lustre that we're missing in the midfield, 7m pounds or less. He's all grit and shots. We need something better, someone that can make that team run and play fine football, "the next Zidane" or something, am tired of settling for less, and then when they dont perform, we want to throw them out the back door. If we can't get VDV or Diego, then lets stick with what we have, (pray Camoranesi is always healthy, and when Giovinco comes in January we hope he can work wonders), and pls lets get Huntelaar before T-rez gets injured, cos if he does, we're doomed.
GOD, PLEASE DON'T LET LAMPARD COME...AM BEGGING.
Well put... Pls no Lampard...:melayyanandmessi:

and wtf is Juve philosophy? If there is such a thing as a Juve philisophy then Lampard fits in perfectly Lampard = tireless, consistent hard worker with amazing workrate. Now let's see how many players we've had with these attributes:

Nedved
Iaquinta
Trezeguet
Buffon
Zambrotta
Cannavaro
Camoranesi
Nocerino
Cheillini

Seems to me Lampard fits in perfectly with our players who also turned out to be successes here in Juve and fan favourites.
Yea but this players all started playing in Italy when they were young and now they got 7+ years under there belts...Frank will be 30 next year so adaptation is the key...But anyway we don't need him IMO so much...As he would be a fan favorit?hmmmm...don't think so...Get Diego...pls
And some young italian like Fernando Forestieri (FW) and Dossena (DM)...
