Like Dom said in another topic, Marek Hamšik is the one who can replace Nedved .
The playing style of Nedved and Hamšik is very similar. Hamšik has the confidence, speed, vision, powerful shot. The resemblance is really unbelievable. Perhaps it has to do with the Czechoslovakian football school.
He is only 20 and he already is the best and most influental player in Napoli (Lavezzi and Zalayeta depend on Hamšik's form).

But i don't know if it's possible to have both Hamšik and Giovinco in the same team, especially in Juventus. These two would be the ones creating our game and we've never had two 20/21 years olds playing two such influental roles.

I'd still prefer both of them in front of Lampard.
And don't think there's a problem with having both of them at the same time.
They don't have to be played at the same time, both Neddie and DP can still play some games. So you can play with Nedved and Gio, or DP and Hamsik.
Besides, Camo and Palladino can create too, so there is creative back-up.

would he really add alot? perhaps a little more than tiago at his best, however id rather have diego simply because he more direct in his approach and more of a replacement for zizou than lampard will ever be. as for almiron, i have alot of faith in him, i believe that every player deserves time to settle after the whole scenario with iaquinta

so you'd rather be in a bidding war with other teams an utimately spend about 30 million euros to sign diego than sign a player of lampard's quality who actually wants to come here and for only 13 millin euros? We had our chance to get diego and that was at the beginning of this year, he'll be way to much now.

yes basically id rather go for a more useful midfielder like diego no matter the effort we have to go through for him, than buy a useless cheap piece of english pie like lampard, i hope barca withdraw their interest in diego and bring lampard instead and we steal diego off their grasp, thats how i see it. If diego has any sense he will know he will be just as influential as he was at werder's mid as he will be at juve's and not barca's and besides vdv will be leaving this summer so barca will be interested in that to add to their dutch contingent.

The problem with getting Diego is Giovinco (in case our board has big plans for Gio).
By watching him with u21 and after reading how Giovinco himself said that he's a playmaker and that's where he's the best, it's clear that we'll lose a lot if we use him as a LW.
So, in case Giovinco is the one we count for the future to take over Baggio's and Zidane's position, it will be really silly to buy Diego who is almost as young as Giovinco ( only 2 years older). And if our board counts on Giovinco but thinks it's still early for him to be our main player then there are only 2 choices:
1. Play without a real playmaker, as we did in the last 6-7 years
2. Buy an older playmaker who'll do good enough for 2 years and then be a replacement for Giovinco (like Milan did with Rui Costa who was later a sub to Kaka)

If it's option #2 that our board will chose, then it's going to be Lampard or someone his age who'll be bought in the summer, certainly not Diego.

I don't think Lampard would find it hard in Serie A. What other options are there right now? Diego will not join, too hard considering how many other big teams want him. Riquelme is an option, but once again, Inter and the likes will be after him.

Lampard would be easier to implement into this starting line up alongside Zanetti. Camo and Palladino on right and left with Iaquinta and Trezeguet upfront, it looks good. We'll get drive through the wings and the middle, whilst Lampard will still help Zanetti.

I personally would love a diego or riquelme type of player to finally get us playing great exciting football again as we did with zidane but i think those days are over.

BTW, once Giovinco returns, ranieri will be able to plan from pre-season top use rather than trying to change the team around mid-season.

gio will take up nedved's position diego will take a more central role.
That's an option, yes, but it's an option i wouldn't chose myself. Watch Gio for u21 playing behind the strikers and given all the freedom in the world to do whatever he wants and then watch him play on the left side for Empoli and you'll notice the difference.
If we have Diego taking playmaker role then we'll lose the best of Giovinco.

lampard is a playmaker? :yuck:
Yes he is. That's his job at least. Being the one who'll distribute the ball to the wingers and attackers.

But if you said: lampard AS a playmaker :yuck: .......
...then i'd agree with you :p

I dont understand how anyone can call lampard over rated, he's perhaps not the most likeable player but chelsea without frank is nothing, he is rubbish for england because he cant play with gerrard - exactly like almiron and tiago cant play together. Actually watch the premiership before insulting lampard as he is one of the best players in the league and I would love to have him here
