Lampard Wants Juve Move - Report
Chelsea star Frank Lampard is desperate for a move to Juventus, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

The goalscoring midfielder is ready to quit Stamford Bridge after the recent departure of Jose Mourinho and would like a fresh challenge in a foreign country.

Juventus unsuccessfully tried to lure Lampard to Turin last summer but with his contract expiring in 2009, the Bianconeri would only need to fork out around £9m to get their man.

The key person in luring Lampard to Turin is Juve Coach Claudio Ranieri. It was the Tinkerman who was responsible for launching the East Londoner’s career when he signed him from West Ham in 2001.

The pair have an excellent relationship and Lampard was said to be devastated when Ranieri was axed by Roman Abramovich in 2004.

Juventus have made the signing of a top-class centre midfielder a priority as summer signings Tiago Mendes and Sergio Almiron have dreadfully failed to shine.

Lampard was in action last night during England’s 3-2 home defeat to Croatia. The 29-year-old scored a penalty but it was not enough as the Three Lions embarrassingly failed to qualify for Euro 2008.

Why do we always have to judge on one perfromance, he didn't even start last night.

I say bring Lampard, with his quality, we'll benefit alot.

Lampard is very similar to Del Piero in the respect that their best work is almost always for the club. Neither are considered to be outstanding NT players despite excellent records for their club teams.

I think he'd be a great addition.

I don't remember any English player at Juve the last 15 years. The last one was David Andrew Platt who played for one year in 1992. Ok if Ranieri knows him and he trust his abilities he may take him but i am very distrustful if he can make the diference in this team.

If Lampard truly wants to come to Juventus, it's obviously because of Ranieri as stated in the article. Personally, I think this is bad news because it means that Tiago either stays on the bench next season or leaves, and that Ranieri remains as coach. I don't want either of the afforementioned statements to materialize.

IMO Lampard would either:

A) take Nedved's place, not as a winger, but behind the forwards

B) play in a 3 man midfield, next to Tiago and Zanetti.

so would I. I think it would give greater freedom to Lampard, freeing him from defendive duties which means a deflection shot fest for us.

in a 3 man midfield he will have to track back alot, which would take away his usefulness among the other negatives.

Possibly,if Lampard if fielded on the left side and not in the center.

Lampard---Tiago---Zanetti---Camoranesi

or maybe even in the center.

-------Lampard------
Tiago--Zanetti---Camoraensi

But like ive said,i dont think Lampard is being followed as Nedved's replacement.I wont mind if he is being considered Nedved's replacement however.I think he can do a decent job.

----------tiago-----zanetti-------------

-cammo----Lamps------DP/giovinco--

----------------trez---------------------

looks fucking great to me......

just because a player plays poorly for his nt doesn't mean he's a bad player. If thats the case than we should of sold DP 2 years ago. Lamps has played amazing this year for chelsea and him coming here would be great.
