Playing Catania at home isn't the sort of game that fits him. I guess Conte was scared of Gomez and co and wanted to play it safe.

 Knee jerking at its finest. We pick up some journeyman from Atalanta who has a couple of solid games, and Asamoah is no longer flavor of the month.

He is obviously out of sync with the squad; he just needs confidence and continuity to return to beast mode.
Peluso is a natural wide player, hence why he's a significantly better fit than Asamoah at LWB.

Asamoah should be used as a CM.

Good luck with that guy.

I am not disputing that Peluso is a natural wide player, and that Asamoah will more likely excel @ CM. However, Asamoah is too valuable an asset to simply be a bench option, and against certain teams, he can be useful, as he offers a lot of defensive solidity, endless running, and can get into dangerous positions. He is a machine. However, lately he has been rather disappointing.

it's true that he should be used as a CM.

the problem is that with how well pogba had adjusted, he will be the 5th choice CM and compete with giach/padion for that role. not really an issue since he is better than both.

the problem here is that that 18 million is quite an expensive bench player for a player who might play 5-7 games a year there.

defensively he is great, but our complete lack of danger from wide areas is hurting our game. I am not convinced asamoah's defensive contribution is enough against 14 serie a sides that love to sit back and defend with 11 men only to have him be useful againt the 3-4 sides in the league that attack constantly.

I would sacrifice the stability he gives us in defense fore a more adventurous wing back. as long as he is not a complete defensive liability like DC.

Yes, Peluso is the answer of our left wing misery. We have MVP and Pogba and Marrone for CM backup. 18 mil for brainless left wing or subs CM is too much, lets get the money back ASAP, before he is valued a lot less.
