He already flopped in Italy.
no he didn't, he flopped in Leo's Milan - Leo, the incompetent coach he was, never gave him a proper chance apart from scraps in the form of 10-15 min here and there. On the rare occasions when KJH got a start, Leo always used him on the wings :sergio:. Even then, however, the Hunter had a really good goal/min played average, iirc.
I was hoping he would stay at Milan but they needed money to finance the ibra and Binho transfers ... and he also didn't seem to think he would get much of a shot too so didn't mind being sold to Schalke.

Anyways, he is one of the very best goal-poachers in the game, a machine of a player, and would love to have him back but now he would cost 20-25 mil and would be 29 yo next season too.

Huntelaar is the kind of player who can carry on playing on top level till a good age. He's not dependent on his pace and on ball skills. Look at Crespo, Klose, Rocchi, Nistelrooy, Drogba etc.. they all played very well till about 34.

He can be a good replacement for Ibra when he retires (Didn't Ibra say he wants to retire in a year or two?)

@acmilan: Maybe you're right, I'm not that concerned about his age as poachers can keep playing well into their thirties.

It's just that I'd rather invest on someone else.

you guys are probably right about the age thing but am not sure it would be smart business to invest 25 mil in a 29 yo player ... I am sure milan wouldn't do it, so The Hunter is basically a closed page for us. Maybe you guys could get him to replace Matri :klin:

anyways, have always loved KJH as a player since his days in Heerenveen

Both strikers have been on fire league wise. Rapist got 32 goal and 11 assists in 37 games and Class-Jan got 33 goals and 5 assists in 34 games. But Huntelaar's record for Holland speaks for itself, 31 goals in 50 games, compared to 25 goals in 62 games of Persie.
Personally I'd start Huntelaar because he proved that he plays well with his country. Like the game against England, where he outshone van Persie.
Both can start, Persie started his career playing as a wide forward, and he is a very complete player and can adapt to many positions.

Maybe a front three of Kuyt-Huntelaar-Persie with a midfield of Bommel-De Jong and Sneijder/Vaart

No way he will change his 4-2-3-1. And where will Robben play? :D

and Robben on the bench?

aah, Huntelaar ... wish Milan never let him go and had more faith in him ... getting misty here :p
I was always under the impression that he was Juve bound( Dutch media and himself) But yeah when Madrid comes you can't refuse, the same thing went with VDV.
