Dafuq is going on in this mercato? Coman disappointed me in his last few games but he's just a kid, I can't believe we are really just thinking about profit at this point of the mercato. He probably isn't worth €15m right now but it doesn't mean we have to sell him.

I hope this isn't another Henry.
I think what people defending this don't understand is the pointlessness of this move as things currently stand. If this makes the difference between getting a mediocre CAM and a top level CAM, it's an excellent move, although it proves Beppe was talking out his ass when he said money was not an issue. If we end up with a mediocre CAM, or even worse, no CAM, and some shit midfielder like Witsel instead, this move is 100% pointless and therefore stupid. This kid has tons of potential. He hasn't expressed it yet, but he's only just turned 19. He still managed to impress in training enough to get starts in our first two matches this year and in a position that doesn't entirely suit him. Why sell him, unless we're going to upgrade our team by getting a top CAM, which our coach has been asking for...

SO... Coman sold and top CAM comes in = great move regardless of if he explodes or not.

Coman sold and mediocre/no CAM comes in = borderline idiotic move.

You don't sell your highest potential 19 year old prospect unless it's to finance a move to improve the team. If Beppe fails to land a top player now, this is a very big mistake in my opinion.

Why would zizinho do that? Marotta sold Coman then it must be a stroke of genius
Easy. Coman is a world class talent and thats why at 19 with no game time he is worth 12-15 mill Euros.

Marotta as a world class seller got an extra 5-8 mill out of him.

Coman potential and Marotta genius preserved :D

So 8m for the loan.

Fine.

But can we refuse their option if we want him to come back? If not...then...:sergio:

Pretty much what K.Kid said...someone big better be coming.

Unless it's a Draxler and that 8m is being used for a CM? Watch it be Witsel :howler:

I disagree. 20 million for coman is a lot of money. This is especially that he had no previous game time and he doesnt fit with our 2 formations.

A young player who barely gets any game time and will probably get very little too and during the little game time we saw of him was largely a headless chicken. For 20 million thats a great sell.

If he does explode its still a good deal because again we dont have a place for him and we sold him for a big sum of money. If he doesn't explode then its an even better deal. By itself (regardless of the CAM situation) this is a good deal.

Now we do need a CAM and a passing CM. We needed a top level CAM since last year and we had 2 great CMs leave. Marchisio was vice pirlo as the passer in midfield now that the maestro is gone we need a vice marchisio and witsel is not a bad option at all.

Witsel and Draxler would be a great mercato on paper regardless of how much or little we paid/sold players for. All the holes in the team have been filled and the departing players are replaced.

I hope it is loan + option, not obligation.

Beppe has a nice present waiting for us for the mercato closure.

Very good money for a young players who has not proven anything. Bayern is not too stupid to pay 20m for him right now so they wants loan first to see how this go. I doubt he got much time in Bayern, so in a year we can have him back and 8 mil.

Nothing like that scenario.

First off, we signed Pogba for free. Secondly, Pogba was a much, much, bigger prospect and more hyped up than Coman ever was. Even if Pogba had only played 3 professional games before he signed with us, there was talk about him as a player with massive potential for a long time.

They play in different positions too, but do you really think talent/skill/potential Coman is close to Pogba?
Coman has the potential to be a class winger. and yes one of the strongest attributes of a winger is being tricky and pacey and Coman is excellent on those departments he still doesn't have the tactical awareness and specially decision making but he is still 19 for god sake he can improve with time. i actually see him making it with Bayern if givin' the opportunity. and i hope we won't regret it.
