Why do you think so?! because I live in Stuttgart and used to follow the team?!
I'm just interested to see what our one last signing is going to be before the summer transfer market ends. Will it be a big name, or as has been suggested someone just for back up? I like Barzagli, but not to the point I wouldn't prefer someone better if we can get better. Looking at other posts, & who is actually available, I'm betting someone who has featured in the Copa America, a name not even linked to us so far will surface!

Yeah, expect the unexpected in the transfer market...

nah im talkin bout in defence, the guy we just signed from deportivo and meira in central defence, im not so sure about that, these guys dont have serie a experiance

Well, in Deportivo's glory days, Andrade was a key player for them, and the only thing that prevented him to move to a bigger club was his price tag. I'm not sure about Meira though, as I've never seen him play, or at least didn't notice him.

he was v good at the WC making Portugal's defence very hard to beat alongside Carvalho...another interesting point is that Andrade should have been #1 to start with Carval had it not been for his injury problems...would be a very intersting link up if we got Meira...they would both be fighting for the same sport in the Portugal starting lineup

    F. Meira performed admirably in Andrade's place in WC06. Much better than I expected for a second stringer on the NT. But a couple of his defensive positioning errors put the backline at real risk in a way Andrade would normally not.

I'd welcome him as a second stringer. For first team, it's possible it could work if he bonds well with Andrade and we rely a little more on Gigi.

Havin' 2 Portugal NT CB's in our team will be fantastic.
They understand each other and play togather in the NT.
Meira is a leader, he was the captain of stutgart...
My dream was milito but Meira will be fine by me.

I agree, though about this matter too. Sounds just good, doesn't it? :eyebrows:
I would be happy with Barzagli too though.

In that case if you are happy with Barzagli, why are you dont happy with Legro starting, i dont get it?

We have Boumsong and Legro, why should we get Barzagli to, do you want the error defence?

Legro is the same player Barzagli was, and dont go on the name FFS, Barzagli was worse then Legro was when we bought him, Barzagli did so many errors last year, some matches hes was good some terrible.

And plzzz dont say he is the next BIG italian defender, maby on Juventuz.com but if you read on j1897 the italians dont agree, and believe me what i have seen last year of Barzagli he really isent so good

I've got a suggestion! What about Kompany. I'm from Belgium and I know him pretty good, he is young, tall but fast and has excellent technique. He was injured last season and should be available for a lesser price then Meira. We should act fast though cuz it's rumoured Liverpool are after him too.

they form the heart of the Portugal defence. One of the thoughest teams around. And you doubt they can cut it in Italy? Besides if we get Meira we would have an awesome defence. Andrade and Meira know eachother, speak the same language, play together internationally, both tall and mean as hell.

First of all I don't think HSV (his current club) are likely to sell him.

And second his last season was anything but impressive, granted he was sidelined by injuries for the most part of it.

Meira I don`t know about him I remember him a couple of years ago and he didn`t impress me but maybe he has improved by the years

anyway Chivu is still a Roma player and things are complicating with him Inter and Real and I think we could snap him under their noses and have a really great defender with great potential

He was a disgrace at Hamburg last season. Made way too many mistakes and was injured most of the time.
