Actually, I am serious. Knock-off shirts is a serious problem for clubs. Nike pays Juventus a shit load of money in sponsorship on the expectation that this famous club will sell enough Nike shirts to make it worth the investment. I'm not saying that buying a fake shirt makes anybody less of a fan, or more of a fan, or anything. I'm just stating the fact that buying a fake is stealing from the club. Go ahead and buy the fake, but you should not come to Juventus fan forum and post links to buy the fakes. Not cool.

I agree with Pado here. I'd rather see the money go to Juve/Nike than some 3rd party manufacturer in Thailand. Besides, this club has been entertaining me for so many years with good football, emotional results and brilliant players. Buying the genuine jersey will at least count as a token of gratitude for all that the club has given for me.

I agree that some fans may not have enough money to afford one, so getting a fake one might be the only way to fulfill their need to own a Juve jersey. But anyone with enough money who still buys fake ones should be ashamed of themselves.

I bought the fake only for comparison, and it turns out they make a pretty good fakes nowadays. You almost cant tell the difference in fabric, badges, etc, but the sizing is off and the silver mark cant lie.

I end up using the fake one for football practices, as I wont be sad if its broken or something. The originals are for watching the match only, so the form can stay the same much longer.

So Sheikh,you would actually end up spending 5000 odd Rs just to buy an original Juve Jersey from JuveStore including shipping costs ?

Cost issues are understandable, but people who can should always buy an official jersey rather than replicas. If you genuinely don't have the money then the issue decides itself, but if you are sending disposable income somewhere else then I agree with The Pado. It's exactly the case that fans buying jerseys at €80 a time separate the top clubs from the rest. You can have all the fans around the world that you like, but if they don't buy official merchandise then tv money and the few who travel is the only external income.

I agree with this, this is very sensible. If you have a decent amount of money you should buy an original jersey. If you earn 3-4 thousand Euros a month then it shouldnt be a big problem.


However, you cant expect somebody that lives off 300-400 euros (or less) a month to spend more than 100 euros on a original jersey. That they buy a fake one doesnt make then any less of a fan.

The Sheik speaks the truth. When Juve Store has free shipping it's on. I buy shit I wasn't planning to buy just to get the free shipping. Otherwise, Juve Store's shipping cost is ridiculous. But there are many outlets on the web, like Subside and Nike Store and Soccer.com, and World Soccer Shop that sell the real shirts with normal, minimal shipping.
