ROMA JOIN JUVE IN RICARDINHO HUNT
AS Roma have joined Italian rivals Juventus in pursuit of Corinthians ace Ricardinho. The capital club would like the elegant midfielder, a member of Brazil's 2006 FIFA World Cup squad, to compliment the talents of rising stars Daniele De Rossi and Alberto Aquilani. Juventus are keen on remain keen on hiring the
30-year-old, though the Turin outfit are unable to offer him top flight football.
Corinthians are currently experiencing a miserable campaign, and the conflict for midfield places could persuade them to cash in on the gifted left-footer, linked with a transfer to Manchester United prior to the English power's purchase of Michael Carrick. Reports emanating from Italy suggest that a bid of around
(euro) €4 million would be enough to take Ricardinho to Roma, where he would team up with Brazilians Mancini and Rodrigo Taddei.
Controversy has trailed Ricardinho throughout his career, and
only last year he was voted the most hated player in Brazilian football by Placar magazine
