Okay the fact that you never saw much of him is good enuff for me to forgive you for football blasphemy:D
I didn't get Serie A where I lived when he was still playing, and my purchases of vintage tapes have been relegated mostly to Cruyff. So, maybe you're right, I probably don't know enough to make a true judgement on Maradona, but IMO, from what I've seen, I'd rate Matteus, Cruyff, Pele, and Van Basten over him.

i have noticed that too...
lately when nedved get marked, the team lose all his potential!!.

this is a problem, we are depending to much in nedved

the whole point of nedved's role is NOT to be marked....

Well, actually, Nedved's role can be to get marked, allowing DP space, but without DP this is useless, which I think was the point...

Just out of curiosity how come you never saw much of Maradona, but you saw enough of Mattheus and Van Basten when they are practically the same generation and how much of Pele and Cruyff did you see exactly. Just for the record though Van Basten did say Maradona was the best he had ever seen and if you know anything about Mattheus you will know he is Maradona's number one fan as his testimonial things he always said about the little genius from Argentina

I saw La Liga games and Bundesliga Games, and I've always watched the Dutch National team. That's how I saw Van Basten and Matteus, but not Maradona. And even if those players are big fans of Maradona, that doesn't mean that they aren't better.

Mattheus played arguably his best football at Inter and yep u r right about being fans does not mean that u are worse but I do wish u can take time to look for videos of Maradona and i can assure u will be impressed, world class is an overused word in my book as good players are calledworld class

Do u think it is easy for an ordinary player to divide a football loving country into 2 as he did in world cup 90 when italy played Argentina in Naples or do u know any footballer that fans have made a church after and its not to do with his looks but his ability

Okay, Denco, you are quite relentless. I give it up, Maradona was the among greatest non-goalkeeping players ever. He has clearly earned this accolade as he won many championships single handedly with both Napoli and Argentina.

The problem is,guys,I read today in la gazzetta dello sport that nedved was THE ONLY man-team and the only one irreplaceable.
They must be KIDDING us! They even talk about G-Ball for ned.
He is great and absolutely important but don't dare to claim that he is the most important player. Why are people (esp journalists so amnesiac)
I tell you once and for all/
ain't no two DP's at juve nor in the damn whole world.

i do believe that Nedved is more important than DP.
His role is what makes him important not the player himself and if he is as tightly marked as Dp is always is then you can say he is more important

We have 5 strikers but no body else to play the free role which is important so whilst u can change the system to play as many strikers as u wish , we have noone to deputise for that role. Yes he is going thru a purple patch at the moment but more important , give me a break

Hah! Y'all have it wrong. Niether Nedved nor DP is the most important player. It's not Davids either. It is the on and only Buffon.

Seriously, this team is like a plane. It needs all the parts to be working together to take off. DP, Neddy, Edgar, Thuram, Tacchi, and even my favorite enemy Zambrotta, are essential pieces to the team.

Truth is a bitter pill. And right now with or without DP Juve is a mediocre team. We may still be rebuilding after those terrible post Zidane years but we have to acquire some quality defenders & midfielders ASAP. This will be controversial but we have to get a striker with a better work rate than Trez. That we can win Serie A says a lot about the state of italian football at the moment.
This statement does not in anyway make me a less supporter of Juve so don't start on me. Be objective. :)

Did you know that we won ALL SErie A matches that we played since February without Del Piero
yeah but it seems a lot of them were lucky, and not particularly hard games ;)

we need DP for the champions league, we could win the league without him!
