Reus will cost more than Gotze. Even considering him coming is laughable. Marotta either has something up his sleeve but has to also stop this loan with option to buy with these top players.

If he wasn't going to get playing time there would have been waves already.
What if he still has hopes that allegri will use him?. What if allegri has not been honest about Coman and coman thinks he will "get more minutes" when in fact maybe he will not?.

I think we have not seen him say anything because the season is in early stages, but more than anything because he is open mided about allegri using him.

What i say is that taking inconsideration how allegri is looking for a treq for his 4312, the only way i see coman playing, is if he turns himself into an AM, or an SS..... and im not sure how that will turn out.

Fantastic squad player. Good for most matches, but will never take us where we all want to go next.
I think runner up in the CL and winner of the Scudetto and Coppa is about as high as Juve is going to go.

Does anyone expect them to repeat last year's performance? I would be surprised if they got close to a Treble again. I figure semis in the CL at best this year.

It's too bad because I think if Chiello was healthy for the final Barca does not score 4 minutes into the game and it changes everything.

Is the issue the price or the player? This kid is talented
Context of the deal Serg. He'd be coming in expected to hit the ground running, to play in a position that effectively runs the game in the final third, off an injury affected season, at a time when three huge personalities are outgoing. One of whom, it could be argued was sacrificed to finance a certain level of player. Had we kept Vidal or Tevez (Pirlo was done one the field, but he had a presence off it), then this deal is fantastic to pursue.

Losing your pillars and signing somebody with potential in exchange just doesn't cut it for me. High potential, within a 30m bracket, coming off an injury, with his club open to selling, is a market opportunity. Not a move of intent IMO. That's also because I genuinely think, we can restore parity despite the loss of Vidal with a highly influential AM. We are perhaps one Goetze, Isco, Silva, Anderson (financials apart) signing away from bridging the transition in the best manner possible. Given that we've been so conscious of the need for it, we should look to capitalise on this awareness rather than play safe, when the financials look better than they are likely to look after a season in transition. Once that begins, it has a life of its own. We absolutely need someone closer to the finished article, instead of this kid.

I don't think missing out on Drax will make Beppe look to a bigger name unfortunately, if you really hope for that, you might regret the alternative Beppe will get for Draxler.
Stranger things have happened in football my friend. Believe.

I am afraid there are no bigger names out there. Oscar, Isco, Reus, Gotze are out of the question. A long shot would be david Silva or pastore if either club buys de bruyne.

Thats it. I am just a haggar man walking around without hopes and dreams. This mercato is over.
I read an interview from Beppe where he showed awareness that the competition has bridged the gap, and we have certain needs of our own to ensure we don't fuck around. He's working on this, and being at Juve has surely taught him a thing or two about the market and the financial dynamics therein. Let's wait and watch.

It's a shame. This kid is a talent. Which was why I was shocked at the beginning of this thread that his name was even being mentioned in the first place
I'm not sure he's our first choice. Beppe wouldn't have lowballed so bad if he was. Obviously, he's taking his chances because he's got a plan b/c/a in place while he bides his time. That's my reading of the situation anyway.

http://www.tuttojuve.com/editoriale/la-tattica-di-heldt-draxler-come-neuer-246515

This article is saying that Heldt used this tactic before with Neuer, taking him off the market on 26th April 2011. By 11th May the move was back on, and 1st June he had joined Bayern.

Obviously that's a bit different as every Bundesliga club is obliged to give Bayern whichever of their players they desire, but this guy may be calling our bluff.
Sure, but I think he pulled this move to early in the negotiation for it to have the desired effect. A 15m bid is not going to be doubled overnight quite frankly. If he was calling out Beppe, I think he would've done it at a slightly more advanced time in the negotiation, perhaps closer to the figure that he wants. Seems like a genuine move of intent on their part this time, but let's wait and watch.

Well even after the kind of tomfoolery Marotta demonstrated yesterday with that offer (which I still fail to see the logic behind it, with Juve being in dire need of wrapping the deal for an AM as soon as possible, in order to let Allegri figure out what's he gonna do with his attack), it still seems likely that Schalke will most probably let this cool off for a coupla weeks (so that they don't look like total dunces) and let Juve resume negotiations.
You would think he wants to wrap the deal up asap and give an international player more time to adapt to a new culture, language, under Allegris tactics, but he clearly hasn't moved with intent, because there's a good chances he's biding his time, and probably wants somebody else, which could indicate that Draxler is not first choice.

Personally I wouldn't want to spend 30m on a player that could have an injury issue ala Jovetic. If we pay any requested player fee it should be for Goetze.

We have yet to sell Llorente & Isla to give us additional funds as well so we have what, a little more than a month to settle things?
But then this is where the club's approach can be faulted . They identified a player, whose value they are questioning themselves due to injuries. Knowing the market conditions full well, they certainly didn't think they would get a German player from the German league in exchange for cotton candy and Bruce Jenner's surgeon's number.

The other category of 'market opportunities' would come up very late in the mercato and would be on the basis of certain clubs failing to qualify for the CL and that causing players to become available.
True, well said. I was thinking the same thing. But wonder which clubs those are this season. I would imagine we would start seeing some movement in the second week of August on those fronts. Also, Di Maria and Goetze, KdB, and Pedro's situations could create some movement for the likes of Mata, Silva etc.

Marotta on panic mode? lol

i dont think the guy ever panicked in his whole life. he is as calm as he is brilliant
Matri at 18m on the last day of the mercato says hi.

you know why your statement makes no sense? because no one has said that. youre using Klins tactics here basically, taking words out of context to have something to make fun of. better not be like him

GDM - The strategy of Juventus now is to wait until their departure to Shanghai for the Italian Super Cup against Lazio. With the agreement reached with the player, they are not in a hurry to close the deal with Schalke 04 .
Maybe Goetzes agent stayed back in China. :D

i agree.

Dodge the bullett and if there's no one good enough, bring no one.

I have a feeling he lacks the required personality to thrive in these conditions. Leading trequartista of the biggest club of a foreign country with which culture he has absolutely no identity with.

We don't even know if he can play as a trequartista.

The guy can't even become a leader of Schalke...

For 15M I'd do it. Obviously he'll cost more than that, I'd dodge it.

Marotta may be getting good luck again, like when he wanted Inler but we couldn't buy him so he went for Vidal. :)
Yes please fucking dodge this one and keep the pressure on ourselves to find s genuine quality player whose got a little more experience for the team to draw from.

I think runner up in the CL and winner of the Scudetto and Coppa is about as high as Juve is going to go.

Does anyone expect them to repeat last year's performance? I would be surprised if they got close to a Treble again. I figure semis in the CL at best this year.

CL semis next season? If we get Goetze, debatable. If we get Draxler, not a chance.

15 to 32 million. I have lost tract of Draxler these days with injuries, but it seems theres abundand of AM cropping up for Germany these days.
How would someone who been following the Germany football rate him among the rest of the German AM right now?
