It's definitely a risk none is denying that. I'm not sure it's Marotta's fault he didn't sign Sanchez before WC. Barca aren't dumb they knew it's better to sell after the WC.
Not only were they not going to sell him before the world cup, they weren't going to limit themselves to one potential suitor prior to the tournament, unless a club came along and did something akin to PSG spending 50 million on David Luiz.

And Juve isn't that club

If we are doing this only to force Milan shove more money for him, since they real need such a player and we dont, then its a wise tactic.
If we are really interested to spend such astronomical ammounts for that kind of a player, than we must be out of our minds...

Cost of doing business these days for young potential stars, my man. Especially when you can keep their salaries in line for the first few seasons.
This team needs to get younger, and more athletic, and I'm sure that you realize that. If their goal is to become a younger squad with the likes of COman, Iturbe, Morata, and the like, then I'm all for it. Change is going to need to be made, sooner rather than later. This team is old. It's starting to get Milan a la 2012 old, and Juve have no intention of selling their two most prized assets in Vidal and Pogba like Milan had to a couple of years ago.

One of the things that Conte did mention is that he wanted to start a new cycle with younger players who are hungry. Some of these players on this squad have run their course, to be honest with you.

I wont consider that astronomical. But if we are truly paupers then it probably is. Thing is we need the player sooner rather than later. Spend money to make money. Strengthen the side as best as possible or else be prepared to forego millions when we get knocked out of CL

Not in the CM/SS spot though, we already have stacked up our best players in those positions (Vidal,Pirlo, MArchisio, Pogba, Giovinco, Vucinic and Tevez)
this should have been the least of our concerns...
By the time Vidal, Pogba and MArchisio reach Pirlo's age, we will have youngsters like Maronne able to help and new opportunity targets like Pogba.
There is no need to make that investment now, for that spot, we need starters in other places much more than we need talents for this one...\

Unless of course, if we are selling Pogba or Vidal, then it would make sense...

Juventus are leading the race to sign Verona winger Juan Iturbe by offering €26m + Fabio Quagliarella . [SKY]

Milan would be willing to offer €28m (to be paid multi-year installments) for Verona's Iturbe, €17M in the first year. [SKY]

Cron, he's primarily a winger. To me, the interest in Iturbe signals that a change in formation is coming. Why else would the even be pursuing players such as him and to a lesser extent, Evra, unless that shift is coming?

Iturbe and Evra have no place in a 3-5-2

Well, we use Asamoah, a CM as a LWB, what would stop us to use him as a wide CM or SS, he can easily play there...
The only thing that would signal a change in formation is a starter LB and that is smth Marotta cannot get!

Iturbe without that LB means that Pogba or Vidal are gone, there is high interest for them, we know its coming...

Probably because maybe its something that they have not been looking for?

I know exactly what you are going to say, that the reason Conte uses a 3-5-2 is because they don't have a LB. Correct me if I'm wrong on either one of the se counts, but A) Haven't Chiellini and to a lesser extent Ogbonna, played LB on more than one occasion, and B) if the 3-5-2 is indeed restrictive, and again, correct me if I'm wrong, aren't we seeing more National Teams in this world cup adapt this same exact formation?

Age,wage and low resale value.
Pls no to players like Nani and Lavezzi
The problem is we never spend big money like this and now that we do it's going to be a big gamble on a very unproven player. This seems more desperate than anything else....

Lavezzi>>>>>>>>>>Nani

Splashing 15m+ for Lavezzi with a wage of over 3m will be more desperate than this Iturbe deal.Pretty much Galatasaray-esque
