they took quite a high risk and sold him 3.5 years later for 15m. in between they earned 2.5m from loans and afaik never actually used iturbe...
compared to that verona took him on loan for 1 year, he was an absolute key player for them and now they are guaranteed like a 10m+ profit without having ever had to take a real risk whatsoever...

i think verona really got the better of it ^^. not to mention that porto just sold a player for 15m who will go for 25m+ now


what i don´t get in this whole thing is iturbe´s role... he said he wants to play cl and praised juve in interviews.
now the negotiations are at a quite advanced stage and juve seems to have made a more than fair offer... why doesn´t he just come out and say "i want juve and only juve?".
why is he risking to get sold to milan who don´t even play in EL?
all according to reports obviously ^^

Burning bridges is never a smart move. He'd take a big risk himself, not to mention the harm he'd do to Verona.

And one of the benefits if buying such a young player, besides the wages, is the resale value. Even if he flops, we can still sell him in 2 seasons for like 10 million. With a then 29 year old flopping Nani on high wages, good luck.

It's definitely a risk none is denying that. I'm not sure it's Marotta's fault he didn't sign Sanchez before WC. Barca aren't dumb they knew it's better to sell after the WC.

They're about right only in 433 case IMO. in 352 those two will never play together and in 4231 I can't see Tevez playing on the wing when you can put him in the middle but it does sound like Conte a bit tbh.

Then comes the news how we have offered something pathetic, and how we can sign the player in 5 minutes if we just go up to this magical and perfectly reasonable round figure. It's bollocks, big players go to auction and highest bidder. It's not in the interests of the selling club to do otherwise.

Juve's offer of 21m + Quagliarella is also still on the table & Fabio has agreed to join Verona if the deal formalizes.

Verona are asking for 27m for Iturbe, but if a 25m offer is made by Juventus then it would be very difficult for them to say no.

Marotta does not believe Milan made a 28m bid for Iturbe

Juve only will offer 25m but Marrone could be replaced over Quag

It's not true. He's worth what some club is able to pay for him. If Verona says it's too little they have every right to do so.

It seems our management rates him highly; more than you do. That's it. I also think it's too much but I can't see alternatives tbh. After all those aren't my money and my responsibility

And the idea sells so well. Check the wishlist thread. Check these people who went like "just offer sanchez that 25/30mil and get him before the wc"

Why on earth would a team sell a player for peanuts, when weeks later, there is the biggest stage in the world for him, to show himself and boost the price ?

I also love how people assume "look if we offer xxmil, we get him now". Erm, no. Teams can just drag the deal out untill someone comes along that offers what they deem is acceptable
