I think it is a bit unfair to judge Nani at this world cup when the team as a whole were pretty $#@!, even ronaldo didn't exactly set the world alight.
He hasn't been any better for MU though. It doesn't matter who was the manager - SAF or Moyes he sucked hard. Talentless Valencia and overrated Young are ahead of him.

My problem with Nani is that he doesn't deserve the wages he'd ask for. He's a dumb player who lost his form and can't find it to save his life. He's become too injury prone too.

It's obvious. Conte is behind this 100%. We're spending huge as for Juve money for the first time since Agnelli and Marotta took over and I think it's the first time we're taking part in a bidding war.

That's why I'm calm and confident of the kid tbh. I've seen him a few times playing for Verona and I like him. It seems Conte rates him highly and who should we trust if not Conte?
Yup, he must be behind it. Anyway, I remember some Tuttojuve reports from january informing about Paratici presence on stands during Hellas games. We have been keeping an eye on him since november or something. And I wonder if our interest in Sanchez was real and we really tried to get him or we knew it is not possible and it was only a smokescreen for Iturbe.

If we sign Iturbe, it means we'll rely on him and start him which means that we need alternatives to him when he's out. I have a feeling we're heading towards a 4-3-2-1 with Iturbe and Tevez behind Llorente which means we have Gio as reserve but we need another piece. Valbuena would be great and come cheap.

Seriously?

Nani might cost double less, but would compensate it with double salary.

And in five years Iturbe will be still one year younger than Nani is now.
i hate the whole argument about players ages, for me if they are good enough to play now and the price is right then why not, my argument is that surely the risk of paying 26 mill for a relatively unproven player with next to 0 experience in continental competitions is far greater than that of paying far less for someone who given his inconsistencies and injury issues in the last 3 years does provide certain guarantees as a player which iturbe doesn't. Of course if we were talking about paying 15 mill or so for iturbe then im all for it, but I just feel the board and management alike may have miscalculated this one some what

funny thing about his injuries is that he always seems to be fit for portugal

You just don't count wages on purpose or what? Do the math Nani will be more expensive than Iturbe despite the higher fee.

Regarding all this talk about Sanchez is beyond retarded at this point. If anyone thought we could get him for 25m should just die. The guy was immense for Chile and he doesn't even want to leave. In my opinion he will most likely stay and we never had a chance.
exacctly

we are NOT getting and was never going to get sanchez below 35mil...add to that his wages which may be more than triple that we can offer iturbe....add to that the bidding war with more financially capable teams like liverpool etc...we dont have the time, resources and energy to compete with that...what we are willing to pay is a reflection of all of this

iturbe presents an opportunity to fill a void that we have..seemingly the best opportunity at this time with these market conditions..

Yeah 30M would be great

Shame that's about 60% of what Barca will want.
THANK YOU!

Then don't argue. Age, wages, and price tag come all before experience

well Porto made a tidy profit for him, Verona will get a small profit, whilst Juve or whoever signs him have paid over the odds for someone relatively unproven
u need some vaseline and a donut pillow for that butthurt

if we get him good. if you can propose more realistic targets then cool

if u just want to mouth off go find a local gloryhole

26 mil? surely we can go for better players are that price

Care to give examples? With transfer fees + wages.
our management doesent know shit. they havent considered all available options and chose the best one available considering fee, wages and age. they just picked Iturbe randomly and are wasting our money while they were penny pitching on Sanchez :agree:

Does European Experience make another player superior ? Like others have stated and I have already stated at multiple times.

We are not in a position to be buying established players and we will have to settle for the players who we think can improve this team and develop into a starter and become a star. Iturbe is that type of player. Knows Serie A, has huge potential, and is already displaying some of that talent. While 25m is overpriced what do you expect from lower teams?

If we don't go for Iturbe what winger can we possibly get? Candreva, Cerci, Biabiany? Let me go kill myself if those are the targets you want

woah woah woah, don't be putting words in my mouth and start implying i want the likes of cerci and biabiany, why do you keep implying that we can only buy players in Italy?

and for someone who has only played 1 season in the league i'd hardly call someone who 'knows' the league if anything a players second season in any league is generally the harder than the first.

An important detail of the negotiation is the percentage that Mascardi ( close to the player who has kept 10% of the time tag of the porto) would get on the deal: presumably the request is 3 million Euros - GDM
