Juventus Supporters Call For Club's Directors To Quit

The supporters are continuing to call for the heads of the club's directors...

After losing their last three games in all competitions and with just four wins in their last 15 league games, Juventus fans have continued their protests against the club's hierarchy.

According to Italian news agency ANSA, a great quantity of leaflets calling for president Jean-Claude Blanc and his colleagues to leave the club were found outside the club's headquarters at Corso Galileo Ferraris, thrown there by fans in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The leaflets are reported to have read, "Disgrace - directors, go away" and "Never so low in 103 years of history."

Bianconeri fans have already set fire to part of the Stadio Olimpico this year in protests against former coach Ciro Ferrara, while another group called for Blanc and sporting director Alessio Secco to resign after the humbling defeat to Fulham in the Europa League.

Fans have also recently clashed with Felipe Melo and Jonathan Zebina as their season descends further into the mire.

I don´t know if this is our lowest point in a 103 years. After all, we had to endure Serie B.

Hands down, our 2006-7 Serie B club would kick this season's club's ass. Balzaretti and an aging Birindelli are better than our pathetic fullbacks today. Our midfield of Zanetti, Nedved, Camo, and even Paro/Giannichedda would make today's look like clowns.

About the only thing worse was having Boumsong as a CB and Mirante as a backup keeper versus Manninger.

Even Boijinov showed he can score against Milan last week -- something we haven't been able to do this season.

At the end of the 2009 summer market many were hailing Secco/Blanc/Gigli for the transfer campaign. In an interview Moggi stated that the transfer campaign was crap and we all see that at the end of the season. Many of us thought he was just seeking attention. Unfortunately, he was 100% right. After the Calciopoli in 2006 our team got its biggest hit ever. The process of rebuild started then. We were moving forward every season, but we were always held back by weird decisions by our management (usually in a transfer campaign). This season it was the K/O hit. They decided to re-invent the wheel completely. The result, a team that is incapable of competing at any front. In fact, the team is so unstable we cannot win again the weakest of teams. The only 2 reasons that we are not lower than what we are supposed to be are: 1- personal effort from certain players, 2- The pathetic situation of Serie A teams.

this season's mercato was NOT crap, we significantly strengthened our MF, and got players that were on paper at least better additions to the squad...the mgmt. took a gamble with Ferrara at the helm, and it didn't pay off...that negative cycle has just kept repeating itself, not to mention having a crippling injury situation since before the season even began.

Maybe crap was a harsh word. But we have definitely weakened ourselves. We only had two attacking midfielders in our team (Camo and Diego). In comparison to last season in which we had: 3+ attacking midfielders Nedved, Camo, Marcchionni, (Giovinco who can play wide left wing in a 4-4-2 formation), 3 Central Midfielders Marchisio, Zanetti and Tiago, 2 Defensive midfielders Sissoko and Poulsen, 4 CBs Legro, Chiellini, Melberg and Ariaudo.

Out:
2+ attacking mids (Nedved retirement, Marcchionni, Giovinco does play well behind strikers as he is better wide).
1: Center Midfielder (Zanetti)
2: CB (Melberg, Ariaudo)

In:
1: Defensive midfielder (Melo)
1: Attacking midfielder (Diego)
1: CB (Cannavaro)

Eventually we lost Tiago (who shouldn't be counted in the first place either In or Out) but we brought in Candreva. So basically we only have 1 central midfielder.
We played half of a season with Camoranesi as the only wing (whether right or left) and because he got injured early on, and is injured most of the season, it is safe to say that we have played most of the his year with: zero wingers and 1 central midfielder.

Don't get me wrong, I like Diego and Melo. I think they have quality. But Our team might have benefited more with the acquisition of other kind of players more.

Just having them in the squad does not mean our squad was of better quality...most of the dudes you mentioned were either crap or injured last season

The main issue with us has been a coaching one...if I was a Juve player and my chances of winning a title are over in friggin' November, then I'd also struggle to motivate myself and my teammates.

the only logical transfers were cannavaro and diego as we needed a defender and a play-maker. but we also needed fullbacks and wingers (maybe secco didn't want wingers as i don't recall us targeting any winger)

one big problem the management faced is that they were unable to offload players such as tiago and polsen. if we replaced those two with wingers then we would have gotten a more complete team.

in that since the transfer was very bad as we ended up with an incomplete team nobody playing one the sides and limited options in the middle. as a result we were exposed to any average coach.

I disagree with Ahmed on the note that our midfield got better. we got a better defensive midfield, maybe but the whole midfield was much worse since it was unbalanced with all our players playing the center and forced to go wide resulting in poor performances. its not a better midfield if the wings are not there.

Its unbalanced when your Coach doesn't know shit...I haven't seen them stick to any formation for 5 games on the trot this season...we even played 3 at the back once

We've had problems with coaching and the injuries which significantly effected our season. Then there was the fact that a huge change was demanded through "better football" so to speak. The last two are a bit complex and hard to measure their effect on the performances (last season we had injuries as well).

The point you raise about the mercato is the interesting one. How do you define a good mercato ? I don't think it is about players who are good simply on paper. These guys are in charge because they are professionals who can delve into more details and understand the gaps in the team. Its their job to find candidates that will fit into this team and could handle the expectations and pressures associated.

Its evident that they did not know what the real problems in the team because our results masked those issues. They just went out and bought big names that did not fit in with the team and can't handle the expectations. Basically what someone who does not have the necessary experience would do.

The results show that we did not have a good mercato, even with the other factors involved this season.

Well Ciro had also mentioned a few times that he was trying to change the way we played into a more attractive passing game, which is the requirement these days, especially if you want to be competitive in Europe.

The mgmt. thus got the players for the MF at least to develop that kind of gameplan...Diego and Melo, who had had an outstanding season, were acquired.

They did compromise for the DF a bit, but still got better players for each position.
