Wouldn't you know it, one of my favorite jazz artists of the past decade is a fokkin' Frenchie who never tours the U.S....

Nice, @<a href="http://forum.juventuz.org/member.php?u=1840" target="_blank">swag</a>, it sounds so dark. Is it a good album?

@Søren Krarup

I love just about all of Erik Truffaz's albums. Many have a bit of acid jazz, hip hop, or even the occasional Arab chant mixed in.

Perhaps my favorite of his is the "poppier" Arkhangelsk. Saloua is great for its Arab influence. The Walk of the Giant Turtle is great for its electronic influence. Etc...

In Between is a solid album with a variety of styles.

Ah, but no discussion of jazz is complete without mentioning the Death Jazz from Japan's Soil & "Pimp" Sessions :heart:

I drove by Jaco Pastorius park today. Haven't been there in a while and it made me go back to listening to his masterpieces. :D

Another troubled genius that went away too young.
