Roma has a surplus of midfielders though. They don't really have a striker. The one they did have, Montella, was loaned out. When he did play, he didn't seem to fit in & I think that's due to the formation. It works for them, but I'm not sure it would work out with Juve.

How do you know he would shine in Juventus?

Anyway, Barcelona was always his first choice, he said at the beginning of the season that he wants to prove his worth to them, in the summer he already rejected numerous offers.

The only way we could get him is if Rijkaard said him: Get lost!

I think we will have to find some other striker, my first choice is Klose.

Juventus make contract offer to Barcelona's Saviola

Juventus have tabled a precontract offer to Barcelona striker Javier Saviola.

Saviola becomes a free agent in June and Juve have made a five-year contract offer to the Argentine worth �2 million-a-season.

However, Juve face a difficult task convincing Saviola to leave the Nou Camp, with his form now convincing Barca directors to open talks about keeping the striker in Spain beyond the end of this season.

If we can/will play 4-3-3 next season depends on the transfers whe can make, but an attack with Saviola Del Piero Klose

I didn´t say it doesn´t work, I said it is not used often.

I would give it a try with the right players.

Saviola opens Juve door

Juventus target Javier Saviola says he will consider his options carefully if Barcelona don’t offer him a contract extension.

The Argentine was recently paired with the Old Lady when reports in Spain suggested that he was on his way to Turin on a free transfer.

But the South American, whose Nou Camp contract expires in June, insists his future has yet to be decided.

“I’m not thinking about joining another club, but if a Barca offer doesn’t arrive then I will evaluate any approach so that I can choose the best option for my career,” stated the South American.

“Staying at Barcelona is my primary objective and I’m hoping that I will receive a renewal offer in the very near future.

“Staying here would be the best solution for me. The club directors know that I want to keep wearing the Barca shirt and I’ll tell them that again when we meet for talks.”

Saviola, who appeared for his country at the 2006 World Cup Finals, has recently been in fine form for the Spaniards.

A lack of options up front has seen boss Frank Rijkaard use the starlet who has responded with a flurry of goals.

The creative forward has also been associated with moves to Real Madrid and Valencia in recent weeks.

Juventus boss Didier Deschamps is a big fan of Saviola whom he bossed during a loan period at Monaco.

Barcelona have admitted that they are unsure whether Juventus target Javier Saviola will renew his contract at the club.

The Argentine has insisted that he wants to remain at the Nou Camp, but the outfit have failed to rule out his exit.

“We are all satisfied with Saviola’s recent good form, but we don’t know what will happen during the summer,” stated President Joan Laporta.

“Whoever stays here must do so because they identify themselves with the club, the city and their teammates.”

Juventus have taken an interest in the Argentine World Cup player given his problematic contract situation.

His present agreement expires in June which has made him an attractive Bosman free transfer target for many clubs.

The Old Lady of Italian football are keen on free buys right now, while Valencia and even Real Madrid have been associated with the 25-year-old.

Gago Invites Saviola To Madrid


Real Madrid's Fernando Gago has said that it would be "wonderful" if compatriot Javier Saviola were to land up at the Bernabeu.

"If there were to be a chance that he could come to Real Madrid, I would be very pleased, because he is an extraordinary player, and an Argentine," said Gago.

"It would really be wonderful is Saviola were to be a part of this team."

Saviola is currently waiting for a contract offer from Barcelona, though the Catalan giants are in no hurry. They are also likely to ask him to take a pay-cut in order to continue at the Camp Nou.

"It has also come to the fore that Juventus have already tabled a superior offer, particularly with coach Didier Deschamps - who coached him at Monaco - keen on him.

The Argentine has also admitted to some contact on the part of Real Madrid, though the Merengues are yet to comment on that.

Sevilla and Atletico Madrid are other Spanish clubs in line for the services of the diminutive forward - who will be available for free in the summer.

It seems more likely he will stay in Barcelona now, even for a weaker salary.
