The reason the stadium was so intimidating for other teams this year was because it was almost always filled. Teams would walk in, surrounded by walls of Juve supporters. If it were bigger it might not be like that all the time and thus it becomes less a spectacle. 40,000 may not be enough but it's better than having a stadium like the olimpico or san siro only a quarter way filled.
Our season tickets have sold out in record time for two seasons now. I think its worth having a few empty seats in the stadium against the minnows given that a club like Juve has a greater capacity for revenue in most other matches especially CL. The richer clubs in europe think big. A successful club with a spectator friendly stadium will sell out 50,000+ more often than not and that's why they make the big bucks.
What makes you think that its novelty that attracts the fans? I think that is an unjustifiably sceptical comment. The spectacle has improved and it will won't get any worse. Its not like football or Juventus is unpopular in Italy or the world. Juve just needed the right stadium.
I don't know how it's going to go, hence me saying we should probably wait & see.
But we have just now got back to our winning ways (well, hopefully) & at that exact same time we have our new stadium. If demand wasn't high right now, it would never be.
im looking to buy Juventus home game tickets (once the fixture list is released) and was wondering which website is best to buy them from (most trusted).
Im in Turin 15th & 16th September and have my fingers crossed we have a home game that weekend

A smaller stadium = more demand for tickets, creates interest and buzz. When we continually sell out our season ticket allocations, THEN we can look at expanding it.
