It will still be referred to as 'Juventus Stadium' in CL ;)
True, but when Arsenal are playing in the Champions League, everyone but Uefa are still calling it the Emirates. Commentators and fans alike.

But I understand why the club chose to sell the rights to Sportfive - didn't they pay the club 75 million, and the stadium was around 150 million to build? With the stadium packed every week, it's almost already paid for:)

It seems so unoriginal naming it Juventus Stadium. If I were a millionaire I would buy the rights and call it Stadio Del Piero. It would only be right to name it after a person associated with the club possibly Agnelli.

Well that's atleast better than balocco stadium or Qatar stadium
I dunno, Balocco Stadium kind of sounds cool (if it weren't a cake/biscuit company)

:agree: Isn't there a shopping mall in the confines of the stadium as well? There must be rent being paid to the club as well from shop owners :boh:

Pay 75 million of your own money to name the stadium after someone else, even if it is the biggest legend in the club's history, would just be crazy. I would hope that when the naming rights contract expires in 15 years, they will then rename it after Alex. I am right in thinking it's ok to name a stadium after a player once they've retired for ten years right?

It's not about who's deserving, but if you're a company paying 75 mil for naming rights then why would you name the stadium after the club's legend ?!

What profit (money wise) they will gain from doing that ?
