But seriously. I can understand a lot, really. Even when I read or listen... I've surprised myself actually. Although I still can't write really, nor speak. But it's been 6 months since I started. I didn't learn for 2-3 week straight when I was on a training for that job that I didn't get. And many times I skipped. Usually it was 15-30 minutes per day when I try to read something (and Assimil). So I'm really happy. Maybe I could've done better but I didn't put much effort in it.

Sai, una volta in treno c'era una ragazza con il fidanzato e stava parlando al telefono (in italiano), visibilmente con i suoi genitori. Dovevano andare tutti e due a cena da lei la sera. A un certo punto chiede al fidanzato "preferisci carne o pollo?". Poi dice al telefono "carne o pollo, per noi è uguale".

Quindi vuol dire che pollo non è carne?

She asked me how did I come up with that and I had no clue... I just said it felt right in my head, I had no other explanation lol.

Everything has its place. You can't speak a language well without knowing the grammar, either through study or through massive exposure to the language where you sooner or later internalize it anyway. It's clear that the former is much faster.

It also depends on the language. If you want to learn Japanese you discover the sentence structure is completely different and you can't form sentences without thinking about that explicitly.

Com'è la cucina serba? La nostra (vuol dire la polacca, la francese non la conosco troppo) è piuttosto buona. Si mangia molta carne e patate. La verdura è così così.

I never type Italian, this is like the first. It's kinda hard but unlike before I know 'many' words. I think I'll have a decent-ish level in like 6 months.

Non so perché noi slavi non abbiamo mai cercato di esportare la nostra cucina all'estero. Si potrebbero fare dei ristoranti polacchi, russi, serbi, bulgari ecc. La cucina è buona. Ma non si fanno.

Non so perché noi slavi non abbiamo mai cercato di esportare la nostra cucina all'estero. Si potrebbero fare dei ristoranti polacchi, russi, serbi, bulgari ecc. La cucina è buona. Ma non si fanno.

Ci sono alcuni ristoranti (serbo) al stati uniti, mio amico mi detto. Ma sì, è buona idea per il business D) ma troppo caro.

Far from impressive. However I'm impressed by myself cause I never thought I'd be able to kick through the tough beginning, especially cause I did it myself without courses and stuff (for free).
