i am not so sure what duo really would work. i saw some misunderstanding between toni and gila against usa. but i am not so sure dp-toni would work, i would prefer dp-gila in that case. toni runs around more the gila, but dp already runs around as well. I know it might sound stupid, something like capellos juve with strikers waiting up front. but i think we should have one target man, who would cause some problems/distraction for defenders, allowing more room to second striker.

The Czechs cannot afford to lose to Italy, or else they will be eliminated. A foot injury has kept the Aston Villa striker sidelined for a 3-0 win over USA and for Saturday's 2-0 loss to Ghana. But a recent MRI scan revealed good progress.
The Czechs' other top striker, Jan Koller, who scored the opener against USA, is unlikely to be fit in time for the clash with the Azzurri. Koller missed the Ghana match with a hamstring injury, which forced him to leave the opener with USA in the second half.

he should have got italian citizenship, i just cant believe how he didnt start either game for france in the world cup.
toni scored a lot of goals, but i havent seen viola so much, it seems he didnt have or wasnt used to with partnership, somethis i guess it was with pazzini, sometimes alone one man target.
i just dont see a good connection between toni and dp.
pippo is also a big ? because i havent seen him with italy, where or how would he suit to this italy, what plans lippi has with him. ofcourse currently we can see he favours iaquinta, so i just dont know what to expect from pippo.
I just cant make up my mind about ideal striking partnership (either 2 or 3 strikers)
and could totti dp play together?

na i think toni and del piero make a good combo but we havent seen them play alot together yet. i think lippi will start totti because he is lippi's man but i gotta say i will be shocked if del piero doesnt play because of what he did during the 35 minutes he played vs the U.S, he was unlucky not to score. i am hoping lippi will do the right think because it is one thing to bench a guy who is loved and not playing well but del piero right now is playing great and deserves to start up front with toni and totti behind them, and also oddo and cammoneed to be back in the lineup, it will be crazy if they all start and too see how many runs oddo and cammo create down the right.

basically italy has to win this match, it no longer is in italia's hand to help the czech rep reach the second round so now its every team for its self and this is much better for italy and will makeit focus on doing whats right for the team which in this case is avoid second place and therefore avoid brazil.
i agree rab but how about if they play inzaghi and gilardino up front and del piero behind them, in other words he plays where totti played in the usa game where his main job was to feed the balls to the two forwards or shoot from out side the penalty box. i think aong with this cammo has to styart fromt he beging ths game, he can cross into the box and he has a good pace and good dribbling ability so we have more options on the wings and u have zambrotta who goes up the wing and has the ability to cross in too.
