A Chinese investment company linked with investment in Milan has denied the claims, asserting that they wouldn’t be 'so stupid’.

It was claimed yesterday that the far-Eastern group Dalian Wanda was interested in offering investment in the Rossoneri, with €300m for 30 per cent suggested for the conglomeration which invests in Atletico Madrid.

“Berlusconi is asking for €1 billion to sell the team,” the Gazzetta dello Sport quotes a Wanda statement as saying.

“Wanda values Atletico Madrid at €225m, and Infront [a recently acquired sports marketing company] at €1.05 billion.

“Does the billion that’s requested for Milan refer to the whole of Serie A? Could Wanda be so stupid

Haha. Holy crap. At least we won't have to worry about France or Portugal overtaking us.
Was never going to happen, but I can remember clowns on this board saying the French and Porko leagues were much better than Serie A :howler:

I still don't see Serie A overtaking the EPL/Buli into third on the rankings though. Not for another few years at least.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini riles against the 'traitor' Massimo Ferrero, and warns he will 'crumble Sampdoria'.

The Presidents of the two clubs have been involved in an increasing dispute over the Blucechiati’s rumoured interest in Rosanero captain Edgar Barreto, whose contract expires this summer.

Ferrero accused his counterpart of making 'death threats', but Zamparini returned with a bitter tirade of his own.

“Ferrero is a caricature, but what goes around comes around,” he said, in an interview with Radio 24.

“He will crumble Sampdoria. He has already come close, someone should take a look into his accounts.

“I used to like him, then he let me know that he wanted Barreto while I was working towards the renewal of the player's contract.

“I told him that if he contacted the player without my consent, Barreto could then raise his requests with me by €200-300,000, and that's not regular.

“I thought it was over but a few days later I learned that Ferrero had already struck a deal with Barreto.

“Then I texted him to say that I was waiting for him at the shore of the river,” he said, presumably in reference to an Italian proverb that links sitting on the shore of the river with watching the dead body of your enemy floating by.

But Zamparini categorically denied that these statements constituted actual death threats.

“I love all animals, do you really think I'd threaten him with death?

“Ferrero is a funny character, but people are going to get tired of his antics on television.

“I want his apologies. I asked for them with a message, but he hasn't replied.

“Ferrero is a traitor who steals my players after phoning me. He is deplorable.

“This would never have happened under [former Presidents Paolo] Mantovani or [Riccardo] Garrone.

“Those were other times. Now it's the age of pirates. I never worked like that.”

In the US they do.
alright alright. Explain WHY they do.
1) there are no relegations in the league. Whatever sport you pick.
2) it's just one big country not 30-40 like Europe
3) there is no meritocracy but they picked the 20 most populated area of US and put them in the leageu and then they allow teams to sell their spot to compete in the league. LOS ANGELES LAKERS does it ring anything?!? wow lakes in LA?
4) Salary Cap basically there is no freedom to invest money as you wish
5) You don't buy players for a fee but it's the league that decides! Means even if you discover a Messi of Basket you cannot sell him for 100m and gain profit.
6) still taking basked as the most famous sport played in US. those who classified as last in their league are utterly crap? they're given chances to pick best youngsters coming from College. Let's say we had a similiar system here you'd get a Pogba for free if you were bottom rock.

All this for the sake balancing and whatever and making money. And as there aren't 2938438 countries there where players can choose to leave easly and go get more there is no escape. You just stick there.
Immagine all that applied to Euro football.

No minor Leagues. No relegations. Salary cap for everyone. No fees for Players and above all a Team per nation!

I gotta say americans make the good business but it takes all the romanticism and meritocracy from sport.

Maybe as a owner you'd get more profit but as a fan? i wouldn't like it.

Maybe the only thing i'd pick is the Salary Cap but the rest is GRUESOME!

Pallotta: 'Roma on Juve's level'
By Football Italia staff

Roma President James Pallotta does not seek 'revenge’ against Juventus and insists the Scudetto race is still open.

The top two face off at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday at 20.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.

“I don’t see this as an opportunity for revenge,” the patron told Roma Radio after a controversial 3-2 defeat in Turin.

“There were mistakes that can happen. I was at the game in Turin and we could easily have won.”

Juve are nine points clear of Roma in the standings, whereas Napoli are within three points of the Lupi.

“We are on the same level as Juventus and I’m not looking to just defend second place. I think that if we play the way we know how it’ll be a very open match. We have to follow on from the victory over Feyenoord.

“What’s frustrating is the number of injuries we’ve sustained, especially very serious ones like Kevin Strootman and Leandro Castan. If Juventus had been without players like Andrea Pirlo or Paul Pogba for most of the season, they’d be in the same situation as Roma.

“I am happy with our result in Rotterdam and can see the team fired up for Monday. When the results weren’t coming, we were still giving our all, but it was great to lift our heads in that atmosphere.

“Our project is long-term over 10-20 years, so we want to fight for the Scudetto and Champions League.”

That also includes the construction of a new club-owned stadium, which Pallotta assured is “progressing quickly. It could become the number one stadium in Europe.”

Not really mate.

I never said US sports were better, just that the owners make money but when you think about it, I prefer the US system. Everyone gets a chance to win through the draft and cap spaces.

As a fan I'd love it because if I were a fan of Cesena for example, I know he team will never win but as a Sixers fan there is hope than in a couple years we'll have built a good enough team to challenge,

I thought Valerio would actually be advocating for the US system; he was making a good case.
