The American Dream, as it is always portrayed in movies, is simple: if you work hard, good things happen.

Unfortunately life does not work that way. We are very slowly evolving towards a meritocracy, because deep down we know that it is more just. That much is true. But we are very far from it as of now.

USA have been ranking remarkably low in social mobility for years now. Inequality and terrible public education as the prime sinners.

The fact you need to tell me that you take the dream as its portrayed in Hollywood is sad.

I never said America was the worst.. Also, while I feel pretty good about Belgium, I have no desire whatsoever to hide Belgium's problems. I did not create our problems and do not feel accountable for them whatsoever. On the other hand I do want to improve my country so if anything I'm the first to point out that we do have issues with racism.

Which, I might add, is a vastly more realistic attitude than the one you are showing.

I'll correct myself, you didn't say it's the worst. You said it's "far worse" than Italy.

I'm speaking from personal experience here. I've lived in both Europe and USA and find the former much more racist so that's why I find your statements ridiculous.
