You guys underestimate Ferrara. From what i saw back then he was at least on the same level with Stam, was not he?

In a line defence, they were equal.

But Stam was usually played as a stopper, with the defender next to him beeing more focussed in controlling the space he he stepped out.
As a stopper, Stam is amongst the best defenders in history


So i'd rate him higher then ferrara

Ferrara was definatly better than Milans Stam and on par with uniteds. I rated Thuram amd Zambrotta between 2001 to 2005 as better than Cafu and Maldini as well. Oviously Maldini had a much better career than Zambrotta though and was an overall better player but he wasnt during that time peroid because during that time Zambrotta was the best in his position in the world.

I agree apart from Ferrara.

Shevshenko was consistantly top 3 forwards in the world for around 8 years, and won a ballon d'or. He was better then Thierry Henry, who benched Trezeguet at the french national team.

I know we are all attached to Trezeguet, but during his entire career at milan, he was better then both Trezeguet AND Del Piero.
Hence, at his prime he was better then Zlatan who was benching Del Piero at that time.

Many are clouded cause he was a ghost of his former self at chelsea.
