But if you guys remember, Roma started off unbeaten for quite some time where as this year they will have CL games right in the middle of the first 2 months.

Are you guys saying they won't be playing starters in those matches or what? If the CL takes away even 5 or 6 points from what they achieved during that same time frame last year (which is not crazy since they were unbeaten), that's a huge blow to their final totals.

And even if we take Serie A lightly, our bench is even better than last year.

Logically to me, we still have to be clear favourites. But I do respect Roma as a clear challenge. I just think sometimes our actual collection of players don't get enough credit as being as good as they are.

Our collection of players, bench included is still a level above Roma. Cole and Iturbe don't make them better than us. If Vidal leaves and we don't make great signings with that money, perhaps; but as both rosters stand, ours is still better. This makes us Scudetto favourites, even if only very slightly.

We broke the serie A record, made number of investment which have increased the team quality, we are definitely the favourites.

If Albertini doesn't get the job, you can be sure that Italy will be stuck in the dark ages for years to come. At least Albertini is being radical and has a plan to address the issues
If someone doesn't listen to what you say they are doomed, at least you are radical and most of the time are an issue.

fuck those in serie B and below who oppose his plans, Serie A should be the priority, at least Albertini has the backing of those like Andrea Agnelli who has highlighted the problems and supports the idea of change.

Maicon didnt really last a full game last year, it can only be worse this year. Last year they had little pressure and alot to gain and no cl. This year is gonna be another ballgame alltogether.

Tavecchio was elected president of Lega. 18 x 2 votes.

Who voted against him, and for Albertini? Juventus and Roma.

Tavecchio is very close to Preciozi... says a lot.

Nothing will change any soon in Italy.

So he is replacing Maurizio Beretta, right?

What about FIGC? And which role is more important?
Hmm actually I made a mistake.

Giancarlo Abete was the president of FIGC and he resigned right after Italy's defeat in WC.

La Lega Serie A is the particular group of Serie A clubs, apart and independent from FIGC. It's aim is to solidify the Serie A clubs positions into one, to give them strenght whithin FIGC. This institution is currently presided by Maurizio Beretta, who was reelected last year. Galliani is the vice-president. Agnelli is one of the consiglieri. They organize the Serie A and represent Serie A clubs in FIGC, I believe.

The election for the new FIGC President didn't happen yet. Two of the biggest candidates are Albertini (and his "revolutionary" and modern ideas) and Carlo Tavecchio.

Today there was a meeting within La Lega to define who the Serie A clubs will support to replace Abete at FIGC. It was some kind of "primary" voting whithin a party, to define its candidate for FIGC.

So they decided that La Lega Serie A will support Carlo Tavecchio, 18 x 2, with Juve and Roma voting for Albertini.

So Beretta remains as the president of La Lega, and FIGC remains without an elected president. What is known is that La Lega (all Serie A clubs) will vote for Tavecchio to be the new FIGC president.

The Consiglieri of La Lega within FIGC were nominated as Lotito, Pozzo and Agnelli (besides president Beretta). But Agnelli declined to be a Consiglieri, since he doesn't support Tavecchio's ideas.

Agnelli's words:

"As for coherence, I have declined to be consegliere federale. I will work in Lega to put the consiglieri federale in best conditions. If we succeed to accomplish at least half of things which are in programme in one year and a half and we'll be happy. These primaries voting are solely a provocation. I'd like if it were a true general election. This would be a true democracy. About the result, president Beretta is the one to express himself for Lega. I would like to have a mechanism not of parties (my observation: La Lega Serie A is like a party within FIGC), not to the delegated ones, but in order to have a democratic approach we would like the primaries only to start a democratic confrontation. What counts is the content, what is decided, and not who carries it out".

So there you go. FIGC is much more important than La Lega, which is only a kind of party inside FIGC.

Tavecchio is 71 yrs old, born near Milano, and widely perceived as a continuation of the current system, with a very conservative approach.

That's pretty much it. Doesn't look good.

Milan also voted for Albertini, or atleast Barbara
All papers are reporting the result was 18x2, only Juve and Roma voting for Albertini. Barbara may support Albertini in statements, but the one to represent Milan at the Lega and FIGC is Galliani, who is also vice president of the Lega.
