Pjanic: 'Whistles are understandable’
By Football Italia staff

Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic admits that his team is 'less brilliant’ than usual, and says he 'understands’ the supporters’ unrest.

The Giallorossi are enduring indifferent form at the moment, which Alessandro Florenzi has described as a 'bad spell', during which Coach Rudi Garcia has been compelled to defend some of the refereeing decisions to have gone the way of his team.

Roma were whistled from the pitch after this midweek’s Coppa Italia win over Empoli, but Pjanic says he is not bitter.

“We understand the whistles, but the tifosi must also understand that in every game we always give everything we've got,” said the playmaker in an interview with Sky Sports.

“Even when we're not playing well, as was the case in the first half of the two games against Palermo and Lazio, the team came back and gave signals of strength to try and win the game.

“It's a period in which we're not as brilliant as usual. Maybe we have greater trouble winning matches, but the first half of the championship only just came to an end and we're five points from Juventus.

“Admittedly, though, we wanted to be closer. What happened just happened, but we're doing everything we can to find a solution on the pitch and we're working hard to fix the things that don't work.

“We had a lot of injuries, many matches, we didn't even have much of a turnover. But each of us wants to play all the time and prepares himself every week to take to the field.”

GDM:

Roma and Chelsea have reached an agreement on Mohamed Salah. The Italian club will take a few days to decide if they want to acquire the player, but the framework of the deal has been agreed to. Roma won't have a forced option to purchase Salah at the end of the loan, should the player not convince them Chelsea would have to pay back the €500,000 loan fee.

Should Roma decide to purchase Salah they would pay Chelsea the pre determined sum of €17 million plus a bonus tied to the qualification to the Champions League. Salah would earn €2.2 million net of taxes through June of 2019. The deal has been reached, Roma is ready to give Garcia a new offensive weapon.
looks too good to be true
