Milan has some deep shit to shovel thru before they start worrying about their next coach being Conte or not. I for one have no idea who's been in charge there over the past 1-2 years - Lady B, Mr. B or Mr G. - and what's even worse, not sure they know either.
Would be better off not making it to EL at all, only to embarrass themselves there, but use the time off to figure out their own BS mish-mash.

Italy will get better.. no need to worry about that... The economy in Italy will get better and then, with new stadiums and such, calcio will get better too...

the only thing is, is that it has to happen fast...
money-wise, you might be right, although I would hold off on ringing that bell too. My point was more on the culture/mentality aspect of the problem and best guess is that's what will be the determining factor in the end, including what happens after the stadium problem gets resolved ... one day.

You were probably too busy sulking at the time :p
Nah, didn't get into football until I was a teenager, so had much less to sulk about. :D

Unfortunately, with regard to fan behavior, it seems like the only way to get rid of the bad aspects of it is to make it squeaky clean like England. Since they seem to be incompetent at finding a medium balance and just want to treat all passionate supporters as criminals instead of only the ones who actually cause trouble. And the day when all the chants, banners, pyro etc are gone is really when calcio will be dead.

so hopefuly roma keep their core players and add 2-3 more quality players to their team. judging by their scouting network, they will most likelky do that.

i want them to be competitivie in both league and CL. i dont see milan or even inter being competitive next year, so we need both Napoli and Roma to push Juve to its limit and make the league more attractive

It looks quite likely that Roma will lose Benatia, I don't think they will be able to effectively replace him and will probably end up unbalancing their team next season as a result with the need for them to purchase depth and having to play in europe also

So some journalist in Sweden who says he is so passionate about Italian football had his team of the year like this

Perin
Benatia Castan Chiellini
Cerci Pogba Valero Cuadrado
Gervinho Immobile Tevez
