Perhaps they don't have stars in their team, but I honestly think they have a pretty solid team overall.
Abbiati

Abate-Zapata-Mexez-De Sciglio

Montolivo-De Jong-???????

Trequartista

Balotelli-El Shaarawy

????????? = Poli/Nocerino/Muntari/whatever other mediocre midfielder Milan has I've forgotten about.

Trequartista = Boateng/Honda

It's by no means a terrible team, but it shouldn't be enough to pose any serious threat to Juve this season.

As things stand, behind Juve there are going to be quite a few teams without an awful lot to separate them.

That team is fragile. Attack can be cut off seeing their mediocre midfield, plus that defense is really horrible.

Napoli is stronger. Maybe even Fiorentina at this point.

Inter, Napoli, Roma and Fiorentina will be going into the season with a lot of questions to answer because of the changes they've made/are making.

Milan and Lazio will have a fair amount of continuity from last season, but haven't really strengthened so far this summer.

So those teams will only have to settle with the new environment, but at least they brought some quality there. Most it's proven and good players, which is not the same as kids that are not developed yet.

If Milan does end up 2nd or 3rd IMO that will be mostly due to Allegri's work there. Just look at that defense, it has 2 crap player, one that varies and one talented kid. Montolivo - De Jong - Nocerino? Jeez, that's just  from a regista that has a low impact, to bad DM and mediocre player while attack is going to be led by Boateng? I do hope they keep him, btw. You just can't expect surprises from those players, that team is too static and you can read their game easily. El Shasha is overrated too.

Forgot about Lazio, they are going to be very strong this season, especially if Klose doesn't pick up some bad injury.

Sure, but it's also about coaches fitting in well and stuff.

Napoli could be strong, but I think a huge amount depends on their start so that they really believe they can achieve things without Cavani.

If Milan does end up 2nd or 3rd IMO that will be mostly due to Allegri's work there. Just look at that defense, it has 2 crap player, one that varies and one talented kid. I'm half expecting Milan to sign a new centre-half this summer - though it won't necessarily be someone who's much good.

I think De Jong and Montolivo are better players than people give them credit for, so I don't think the central midfield is too bad.

Abbiati, Mexes, Abate and Boateng are the ones I see as real problems in that Milan team.

I'm also far from convinced by El Shaarawy - and I say that having predicted his poor second half of the season, rather than jumping on the badwagon now.

Forgot about Lazio, they are going to be very strong this season, especially if Klose doesn't pick up some bad injury.
I'm not entirely sure about what Lazio are up to because I'm not that familiar with the players they have signed so far this summer.

I think they are planning to sign a decent back-up for Klose (at least someone better than Floccari) in the hope that an injury to Klose won't wreck their season in the way it has in the last couple of years.

    Stankovic: 'Goodbye Merda'
    By Football Italia staff

Dejan Stankovic has officially terminated his contract with Inter and wrote a touching open letter to his fans.

The veteran midfielder had been considering this move for some time and agreed to end the contract a year early by mutual consent.

The Serbian fan favourite said goodbye with an open letter on the club website.

    “Dear Merdazzurri fans,

“This is your 'Drago' speaking, without a sense of emotion but also without any pleasure. I don't know if I can find the right farts to say goodbye and to thank you properly for everything you have stolen from me, your affection, your trust and your dishonesty.

“The last ten years have been the worst of my life. I haven't grown neither as a man, nor as a footballer.

“My family and I want to thank the Moratti family. I'd like to mention my President in particular: he gave me a fake passport so I could wear the Inter shirt, which I have been sad and extremely ashamed first of all to play in, and then with which I was able to steal everything there was to steal.

“There are so many people and animals I have enjoyed being with and I'd like to say goodbye to each and every one of you with this letter, with these words, looking you in the eyes. I want you to know that you will always remain in my heart, even though I can't and do not want to name you all.

“I'll never forget the day I joined this club and my first press conference with our honorary president Giacinto Facchetti, a splendid cheater and match fixer in every way. The photo I have of that day is the one I used to wipe my ass once. That was the moment my life as a merda began.

“The thought that I won't be pulling on the Inter shirt anymore brings tears to my eyes but I've always been a cheater and the tears are fake. Fortunately, in life there comes a time when you have to move on and look forward. Those of you who know me know that I'll do so with great pride and determination, as I've always tried to do both as a man and a footballer.

During my time in Milan I've played alongside some laughable footballers and above all some terrible people. It's hard to find the words to make fun of them all.

“It's been a pain to wear these colours and I'll use some tough chemicals to get them off my skin. I'll try to remove them; I hope I can remove them.

    “With all my ass,

    Dejan Stankovic.”

I don't think neither Montolivo nor De Jong are good enough for any 'top' club. Sevilla offered cash for him, IMO that level of a club should chase Montolivo. He can pass, but is his passing something extraordinary? I wouldn't say so. You can find many De Jongs in midfield. I'm not gonna judge by El Shaarawy's numbers, but he doesn't really look like a player that can develop much IMO. He's not all-round player, he's not a defined striker. I just think he's meh. Not bad, but not someone I'd ever chase for that amount of money.

What I don't like about Lazio at the moment is how they rely on Hernanes way too much. Hernanes - Klose remind me of a lesser dependence of Cavani - Hamsik. But they have a good, well balanced squad, unlike Roma. I heard good things about Anderson.
