Reports have emerged today that S. S. Lazio could be in line for a five point deduction from this season's Serie A championship due to Stefano Mauri's alleged involvement in the match-fixing scandal that has engulfed a nation.

At present it is only speculation, but the rumour suggests that Lazio, along with Genoa and Lecce, will have to face up to charges in a February trial.

Stefano Mauri is suspected to have had some involvement, be it knowledge of or the actual fixing of two matches for monetary gain - Lazio's 4-2 wins over both Genoa and Lecce at the end of the 2010-11 Serie A season. It has been alleged that he placed bets on the game via a special card given to him by a close friend, Alessandro Zamperini, who is believed to be involved in the Calcioscommesse scandal, thus implicating the Lazio captain.

Mauri was arrested on the 28th May 2012 over his suspected involvement in the scandal and has faced the prosecutor twice over these allegations, denying his guilt. He has admitted to placing bets on games but insists he has only ever placed bets on basketball and tennis and has no involvement or knowledge of a deliberate fix on Lazio games.

If found guilty, Lazio could be deducted two points for each of the results that may or may not have been influenced, copying the trend set when Napoli were deducted two points following goalkeeper Matteo Gianello's admission that he tried to influence Paolo Cannavaro and Gianluca Grava to fix a game against Sampdoria in 2010. A further point may be added to the deduction for the severity of the offence and its implications.

What a silly site/numbers. It's even worse than FM.

I can even image some fatass being like 'oh, this guy just scored, here's 2 million more at his price tag'.
Yes except I'm pretty sure they use some sort of formula for valuating players. Like whoscored but with price tags

there are votes in their forum for that, but in the end a moderator will evaluate the points made by the forum members and adjust the value, but they are more conservative and don't tend to go overboard with values. this is what it was like 3 or 4 years ago, when i was active there. the "problem" is, that the other moderators of the other leagues might be less sensible and use other rules to evalute players values more freely.
