Giancarlo Abete has been re-elected as the President of the FIGC – the Italian Football Federation.

Abete, who was the only candidate, gained 256 votes – almost 95 per cent – after 32 voters opted to abstain.

The man born in 1950, who has been at the head of the FIGC since April 2007, will now remain in the post until 2017.

i would not cheer up to early about a points deduction of napoli and lazio, because that is not the end. they will get conte banned and so have achieved what they want... hamper all of the milanese opponents chances of winning the scudetto

Perhaps, though it would be risky.
Yeah, it's only something that I'd consider doing to counteract a specific threat, rather than playing Ciani over Dias on a regular basis.

I was actually quite surprised that an Italian team went for Ciani and not an English one, he's the kind of physical defender who isn't very smart that would be more suitable for the EPL. He's strong and fast, but not that intelligent.
He's done pretty well when I've seen him this season.

I guess having intelligent players and a good structure around him helps mask his limitations.

Lazio could be deducted five points in CalcioScommesse.
What's the accusation against them?

None of their players have been found guilty of anything yet, have they?

Reports have emerged today that S. S. Lazio could be in line for a five point deduction from this season's Serie A championship due to Stefano Mauri's alleged involvement in the match-fixing scandal that has engulfed a nation.

At present it is only speculation, but the rumour suggests that Lazio, along with Genoa and Lecce, will have to face up to charges in a February trial.

Stefano Mauri is suspected to have had some involvement, be it knowledge of or the actual fixing of two matches for monetary gain - Lazio's 4-2 wins over both Genoa and Lecce at the end of the 2010-11 Serie A season. It has been alleged that he placed bets on the game via a special card given to him by a close friend, Alessandro Zamperini, who is believed to be involved in the Calcioscommesse scandal, thus implicating the Lazio captain.

Mauri was arrested on the 28th May 2012 over his suspected involvement in the scandal and has faced the prosecutor twice over these allegations, denying his guilt. He has admitted to placing bets on games but insists he has only ever placed bets on basketball and tennis and has no involvement or knowledge of a deliberate fix on Lazio games.

If found guilty, Lazio could be deducted two points for each of the results that may or may not have been influenced, copying the trend set when Napoli were deducted two points following goalkeeper Matteo Gianello's admission that he tried to influence Paolo Cannavaro and Gianluca Grava to fix a game against Sampdoria in 2010. A further point may be added to the deduction for the severity of the offence and its implications.

We are safe till the end of the season, they must see what will be the difference between us and 2nd team in the table so they'll know how much they must deduct.
