Giancarlo Abete has been re-elected as the President of the FIGC – the Italian Football Federation.

Abete, who was the only candidate, gained 256 votes – almost 95 per cent – after 32 voters opted to abstain.

The man born in 1950, who has been at the head of the FIGC since April 2007, will now remain in the post until 2017.

Lazio are tactically one of the best sides in Italy or tactically well-equipped i'd rather say. They kinda mirror Juve in some aspects to be honest.Klose is fit and fine for now ,so i am not surprised to see them doing so well.If Klose stays fit until the end of the season,no doubt they'll make the CL.

And if you go by squad strength to judge them ,none gave us a chance either to win the Scudetto at the start of last season.Tactics and mentality is as important as just having quality players in your team.

A defense comprising of Radu,Dias,Biava,Konko is unspectacular but solid enough for the league. Also they have Marchetti in goal who's been the best keeper in Serie A this season. In midfield they have Hernanes who is borderline WC,the consistent Ledesma ,a reborn Candreva and the underrated Mauri,So its not like they lack quality overall. On paper they might not be intidimating but they are a very very hard side to beat ,kinda how like the elite sides of Europe look at Juve tbh plus they have players who can actually make the difference in Klose and Hernanes.

It's the midfield that really impresses me.

With Ledesma, Hernanes, Gonzalez and Mauri, they have a bunch of players who understand how to position themselves properly and how to retain possession in tight spaces.

That makes it very tough for the opponents to put the defence under serious pressure.

The defence, largely due to the lack of pace at CB, looks pretty vulnerable on the odd occasion that the midfield fails to give them proper protection.

Oh, and it looks like I might be going to Rome for the derby at the start of April. :tuttosport:

Ciani is quite fast for a CB to be honest.

Red prefers Lazio to Juve :disagree:
I certainly prefer their style of play.

Now comes the famous, he's not Che post.
I was rubbing shoulders with the man in my 'tar at an event on Friday night.

Ciani is quite fast for a CB to be honest.
He is, but he's behind Dias in the pecking order.

Despite Dias being the better player, you could make quite a strong case for Lazio being a better team with Ciani in it.

Buffon
Lichtsteiner-Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini*
Vidal-Pirlo-Marchisio*
Giovinco-Matri/Immobile**-Vucinic

*Once they are fit
**If we bring him back

Giovinco obviously doesn't offer the defensive work that Pepe did but I'd be willing to take that risk. I think we should try that.

Meh. Chiellini has to play @ CB. There's also no way we are going to bench Asamoah, so Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! :D
