Roma’s Walter Sabatini has revealed that the club are ‘very close’ to making their first purchase for the summer 2012 transfer market.

The Giallorossi, who currently sit in sixth position, four points adrift of the Europa League qualification places and seven away from the final Champions League berth, are already planning for next season, according to their sporting director.

“We know the areas that need work - the team must have more personality,” admitted Sabatini on Radio les, in reflection to the weekend’s defeat to Milan.

“We will try for players with this quality. We know what to do and are already very active, I’m sure we will do well.

“We are very close to taking a player, one of the highest quality. I will not say anything further as it would play against the club and the deal itself.”

Sabatini also confirmed that the club ‘have not decided what to do’ in relation to making permanent or not Simon Kjaer’s loan deal, and that Bojan Krkic will remain with the club for at least another season, before any decision needs to be made about his future.

I wouldn't say securing the return of Borriello for next season counts as a top signing.

I'm thinking it's Rossi.
Would Rossi jump at the chance to join Roma this early?

Would he not wait until after the Euros and see if someone better comes in for him?

Maybe his injury means he's ready to play it safe and accept the first decent offer. :boh:

Abel Hernandez and Moussa Sissoko seem to be the names being mentioned, at a brief glance.

Wishful thinking, don't want Juve to sign someone as mediocre like him.
