True. Storari's great but Steklenburg was a big part of Netherlands making the finals.

I thought United would get him, made more sense than De Gea.

Pretty much.

Roma for their standards had a good mercato from the previous years but they've taken many risks. If they don't work out they'll have a tough season.

Their defensive players they've bought in Kjaer who is laughable and Heinze who was finished once he left United are not too good. Juan is always injured so a defensive pair of Heinze & Kjaer is not very good. Cincinho is a joke also for the RB spot. Not seen enough of Angel.

Their midfield options, Gago is too injury prone and I never really rated him. Pjanic/Lamela I've not seen enough. Osvaldo I've only watched him at Fiorentina and he looked average and he's their marque signing.

Steklenburg was a quality addition.

Totti if he does not play will cause unrest in Roma's dressing room and it'll be Roma's undoing this season. If they all click together they could have a very good season but it's too much of a risk to rely on that.

Yes Juventus has bought shit this Summer but then we've bought some quality additions, not risks, quality.

Pirlo
Vidal
Vucinic
Lichtsteiner

3 out of the 4 of those are solid proven Serie A players who when on top form are better than most players in Serie A in their positions. The other Vidal was up there with Sahin for the top player in Germany last year.

A fully functional Krasic and a wilcard in Elia on the wings can cause any defence in Serie A trouble. Not to forget a Striker in Matri who bagged 20 goals last year and an option on the bench of Quag if things up top get fruity.

Bottom line is, Juventus have other teams to be more worried about than Roma this season, Roma will need a season to gel.

I popped late to the party but really, there's seriously NO way for Storari to be a better keeper than Stekelenburg.
Of course not. Stekelenburg is quite a lot better than Storari. One of the best keepers of the moment if you ask me.

I would tend to agree with that. With the way things are looking right now at least.

I love how you mistakenly forgot to mention our defense, Nico.
Our defence of Motta-Bonucci-Chiellini-Grosso was second last year at the new year. We've added Lichtsteiner and we've got De Ceglie back, so as much as it's not great it's enough for third.

And we ended up conceding 47 goals which is 9 less than Bari who finished last! Licht isn't enough to solve our problems and we just went another year neglecting our shitty defense.

You missed my point, it was working up until the new year or else we'd not be second. Something happened around January time because we fell to pieces.

You really haven't seen any of Marseilles matches, Heinze was absolutely instrumental in clinching the 2009/10 season. Pjanic is a pure gem, absolute class, that's the one of the two signings they've captured along with Lamela that made me jealous.
