My favorite ADP video.

I didn't get to see Baggio when he was young but I've watched some of his matches (I bought a tape of his best matches). Anyways, ADP is the greatest footballer to me and he's up there with Zizou and all the greats.

He put them in safety. That is part of saving.
He didn't really. If DP didn't score the goal then Italy were gonna be eliminated only if Ecuador beat Croatia 4:0, which was practically impossible. Ecuador won only 1:0 and were defending the lead, not even trying to attack.

More or less he did the same as scoring a goal for 4:0 and making the game a little safer than it was when the result was 3:0. Hardly something of note.

1995/1996 del piero was the greatest italian football player ever.

If he didnt got those two horrible injuries,he would have have developped in a player beyond messi

baggio was secondbest, and didnt had this kind of shit
You must not know too much about Baggio then. When he was 18 at Vicenza he absolutely shattered his knee to bits, everything was destroyed in his knee, he was out of football for nearly 2 years, and it was a near miracle he become a world class footballer after that, his injuries were alot worse than Del Piero's at Udine in '98. As Baggio said himself very recently ''everything I achieved in football I did with one good leg''. Imagine had good he could have been with 2 good legs. at 35 years old he snapped his cruciate ligaments and made a comeback in 77 days, thats simply fucking unbelieveable.

Del Piero from 1995-98 was as close as he ever got to being on Baggio's level, and damn if Del Piero wasn't world class then, but Roby just had them moments of sheer genuis which seperated him from every other player on the planet.

Oh dear

Equador didn't need three more goals, it was Croatia who needed to score a goal, wow, you can't be that bad seriously :p

Italian players didn't know the score of Croatia-Ecuador. Hence Del Piero's celebration with his team-mates;)

Literally he didn't save them but technically you can say he saved the team.

P.s I think you got the Ecuador goals wrong.

If Croatia scored a goal, Croatia would have qualified with or without DP's goal. Croatia would have had 4 points, just like Italy, and a better H2H since Croatia beat Italy.

He is only bitter that Ale's goal sent Croatia (who had already cheated to beat Italy) back to their home ;)

No, I completely get that. The goal was of big importance at the time so Del Piero did score an important goal, a very important goal in a tough situation for Italy.

What I don't get is Hoori's claim that Del Piero, with his goal, qualified Italy for the knock outs.

If you don't know about injuries then stay quiet seriously. I had ACL/meniscus ligament surgery myself, there can't be any worse injury than tearing your knee internally.

Mexico 9 pts
Italy 3 pts
Ecuador 3 pts
Croatia 3 pts

Italy would have had both the best GD overall (of the three teams) and were gonna be the best in a mini table.
But it wouldn't have needed to take Ecuador to score three more goals, it would have only taken Croatia to score a goal, and Ale's goal handicapped them.
