Allegri: 'Milan criticism excessive'

Massimiliano Allegri slammed naysayers after they “kept the Scudetto race alive” by beating Chievo. “The criticism of Milan has been excessive.”

The Rossoneri picked up one point from the previous two games and lost the Serie A leadership to Juventus, but temporarily have it back after tonight’s 1-0 victory.

“Tonight it was an extremely important game. We didn’t play well, but if we didn’t win then we could definitively drop out of the Scudetto race.

“We brought home a crucial result despite missing so many players. We had to field a 19-year-old and we saw Rodney Strasser, Gennaro Gattuso and Mario Yepes make their comebacks.

“The criticism of Milan has been excessive,” continued Allegri. “Everyone was waiting for us to fall, but fortunately we got back up again. Even when we were four points ahead there was a media campaign against us, as everybody was calling for our defeat.

“This evening the lads were able to keep the Scudetto race alive.”

There were reports Allegri’s job could be on the line if he ends the season empty-handed after President Silvio Berlusconi criticised his style of football against Barcelona.

“I often speak with Berlusconi and there are no problems. He wished us all good luck for the game and he believes in this Scudetto.

“What disappointed me the most is that during this period we are fighting Juventus for the title, but people act as if they are doing something extraordinary while we should be thrown out with the trash.

“We have had so many injuries and played many more games than Juventus. I could not ask for more from these lads.”

It's odd that they would have the inferiority complex, eh? We're the ones with our 2 worst seasons ever back-to-back and they are champions yet they feel the need to use every opportunity to mention us.

Funny that they always bring the "so many more games than Juve" excuse, as if they didn't know they had to play in three fronts from the beginning. If you are not prepared to be there, the criticism you get is deserved then.

Like Conte said to the journalists when asked to comment on Napoli's whining about having to play in the CL while we don't, if it is such a burden, why to they even bother qualifying for it in the first place?

The same applies to Milan.

Whenever Conte brings up Milan it's always respectful and always diplomatic. Classy and professional.

This Allegri rat brings us up all the time, but uses smarmy little bitchy comments about us all the time. He has a serious complex. I love that the pressure is getting to him. Fuck him and his disgusting team of cunts.
