im actually slightly worried with roma getting new owners, but especially with only 3 champions places next year. He may be talking a load of shit, but I believe that juves 'reputation' will only be able to draw players one more year without champs league...hope we have a big summer

The charge is corruption
The former AC Milan full-back and Rossoneri star, Paolo Maldini, has been sent to stand trial for corruption and illegally accessing information systems: he allegedly bribed a tax official to avoid tax investigations. The ex-player was present in court to hear the judge's ruling

MILAN, 28 March 2011 - The former AC Milan full-back and Rossoneri star, Paolo Maldini, has been indicted for corruption and illegally accessing information systems. This was decided by Milan judge, Luigi Varanelli.

in court — Maldini, according to the charges, allegedly paid off an official of the Italian inland revenue department to avoid tax investigations and referred to him for an illegal tax check regarding a property deal he was involved in, in Tuscany. The former Italian international was present at the hearing in Milan as the judge read his ruling, also present in the Milan Law Courts, at the same time, was Italian Prime Minister and President of AC Milan, Silvio Berlusconi.

settlement — The hearing will take place on 21 June next in the Milan Law Courts. Judge Luigi Varanelli brought charges against another 12 people. In the preliminary hearing, which concluded today, 39 people had been summoned to court, among them employees of the Italian inland revenue department and accountants, who are accused of having helped dozens of businessmen and company owners to avoid tax investigations and receive favourable treatment. Some of the accused chose to settle out of court, others the summary procedure as defined before the judge, others, like Maldini for the normal procedure. The former AC Milan defender, according to the investigations carried out by prosecutor Paola Pirotta, contacted an official of the Italian inland revenue department, Luciano Bressi, who was imprisoned during the enquiry, for avoiding tax investigations. Bressi reached an agreement with the prosecution to return a million euro to the tax office.

fee — According to the investigations, until 23 June 2009 Maldini allegedly bribed Bressi offering him not only his office fee(around 40,000 euro per annum)", but also "special power of attorney" for his wife's company, Velvet Sas, "from which huge amounts of money flowed out 'under the table' (sums not inferior to 185,000 euro)." Furthermore, through Bressi, he is alleged to have paid to access "reserved information" from the tax office regarding Alessandro P.B., who was a partner in a company the ex-footballer wanted to join regarding a property deal. Maldini, represented by Danilo Buongiorno, has always maintained his innocence, declaring that it was Bressi who subtracted funds from the Velvet company.

Nobody has mentioned the Samp - Chievo game? It's being investigated. Huge amounts of money have been put on it being a draw.

I know it's Goal but it's the only decent English article I could find. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2995...end-betting-on-chievo-sampdoria-serie-a-clash
Italian football: the forefront of evolution.

But joking aside, I wonder how many games get fixed but the people are smart enough not to be sloppy with their money and never get found out.

I'd say a lot. Especially in the lower leagues.

I saw a program about the people who investigate match fixing in Europe. They had found a goalkeeper and several managers who moved from club to club all over Eastern Europe fixing matches everywhere they went.
