You're right, the size of a salary has no impact on what people expect from you. That's logical.
Well, of course it does. But with that extra money, comes extra pressure.

Again, do you blame the player for the signing the contract, or the team that offered such a high salary?

Its a two way street. Its his fault for not living up to the expectations of the contract, but its Juventus' fault for offering such a high salary.

If anyone was celebrating his lack of goals, then that just flies in the face of supporting a team.

I can understand bemoaning the fact that he was a liability more than an asset while he was at Juve, but to actually be happy that he wasn't scoring, as if to prove some sort of point, doesn't sound like a fan of a team to me
No one ever did that, why would anyone celebrate his lack of goals. Andy like usual loves to exaggerate :D

Actually, none of the two. I'm simply finding the situation a funny one.

Its a two way street. Its his fault for not living up to the expectations of the contract, but its Juventus' fault for offering such a high salary.
Try telling that to Andy.

I don't blame him for the salary. I say it's perfectly fair to evaluate his performance in proportion to it. It's sort of a.. (I know it sounds crazy, but bear with me) free market principle. You pay more, you expect more.
That's not what you were originally arguing. You were blaming him for taking the salary after not living up to it on the pitch. Not accepting a high salary because it's too high is anything but a free market principle, more like socialist.

He is the one to blame for being awful during his time with us.
Nobody said anything differently. We're talking about signing contracts and accepting salaries here.

No matter how horrible we play, I still love Serie A and enjoy it. Look at that punchbag Lecce, they are even with Palermo, Cesena giving hard times for Napoli. Unlike other leagues, in Serie A it's always hard to win a match.

People were celebrating all the time. Even when Amauri played well, his thread was filled with taunts and insults.
I think most of us where joking about it, anyway, Amauri is not bad, and we all know that he had and still has the potentials to do well.
but we were making jokes around him.
In fact, playing Amauri next to Iaq was very ridiculous by our coaches, I never understood what were they thinking by playing two forwards who run to the same place everytime a cross or a pass come through..

but the last year he was like the helicopter waving his hands in the air...

How did he scored today? was Gio on the assist??
