Leo: Inter are like Senna

Leonardo has likened Inter to Formula One legend Aryton Senna such is their desire to win.

The Nerazzurri have won every game under his management and appear to be back in the title race.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's clash with Cesena, he said: “It won't be at all easy because we are playing ourselves too and it's a situation that we will have to approach in the right way.

“Cesena, even when they have lost, have never given up lightly. They are a team with the desire to play and to propose alternatives in terms of men and style.

“It's impossible for Inter not to think about winning the Scudetto. Even if Aryton Senna started 25th on the grid he only ever thought about winning because it was in his DNA.

“Inter also have it in their DNA and this is right,” he concluded.

I assume this just means that technically it is the company that owns them that is in debt rather than the club itself.
Yes, most footie clubs have holding companies that assume the debt to protect the club and its assets.

EDIT: Wonder what Liverpool's worth is under the new owners.

Clubs like Chelsea, Man City and Newcastle United have negative operating incomes? That's not surprising. Much of it probably comes from wages and upgrading their facilities. It might not be a problem for the oil barons but one has to wonder what the hell Newcastle is doing... operating income doesn't even reflect interest payments on debt.
