in serie A he was
In Coppa he wasn't. In the end Mourinho ended up winning both trophies in Italy. If a coach should come close to Mourinho for 2009/10 it's Ranieri. Coppa final and close 2nd in serie A with a much inferior team to Inter. Actually, it was widely expected Milan and Juve too to finish ahead of Roma.

how can winning serie A be considered an achievement for mourinho, when not winning it would be a disaster. its about exceeding expectations, and only Samp did so.

So in other words, Mourinho never stood a chance to be the best in 2009/2010 because he couldn't exceed expectations in serie A and Coppa?

with del neris and allegris around? yes. He did the minimum, anything less would be a disappointment.
:lol2:

Does this work for players too? For example, is Ronaldo ineligible for being chosen the best player because he can never exceed the super high expectations everyone has of him by more than some mediocre player can? :touched:

Too many gripes about Morganti. I'll have to go with Tagliavento.
