I'm not down playing his ability, i'm merely stating that he didn't achieve half of the magic he should have. He's a fantastic player, truly phenomenal.
well thats not totally up to him, those things need a lot of things to come together, but when put in the right circumstance, good team chemistry and talented cast, he delivered.

FYI the boca-river super clasico is tonight if any are interested

Pastore doesn't have potential to be as good as Messi but he'll definitely be better than Iniesta. He just needs to work on his diving.

Right now he's the best attacking mid in Serie A, I don't see his form deteriorating especially considering he's 21.

Why the fuck does his wiki page say he's got a deal with Liverpool for summer of 2011?

Well the atmosphere was hardly conducive for him to thrive at barca when he was there.

It's way to late for me to watch but ill record it.

Comparing him to Iniesta is silly though. He's shown he's talented, now he has to sustain this.
Nobody compared him to Iniesta. Nick said he has the potential to become bigger than Messi & Ronaldo. I seriously doubt he'd reach their heights though.

Don't think anyone said that the current Pastore ia better than Iniesta (right now). They said he has the "potential" to be like him or even better and i don't see that as a far fetched statement. The once 21 year old Iniesta didn't impress me as much as the current Pastore.

Whether he will fulfill that potential or not is something else though....

Some here are already speaking like he has been around proving his talent for years. So far he has shown amazing potential but he has much more to prove before someone can claim he will for sure be better than Iniesta.

Ricardo Quaresma reveals “my biggest regret was joining Inter. I woke up crying when I had to attend training sessions and Jose Mourinho didn’t help me.”

The Portuguese talent was brought in on the express demands of Coach Mourinho in the summer of 2008, but failed to make his mark and was often jeered by the San Siro crowd.

“My biggest regret was joining Inter,” he told Portuguese newspaper Publico.

“My happiness and self-confidence were taken away from me. At one point I wasn’t even called up any more. I felt on the margins of the squad and woke up crying when I had to attend training sessions.”

Despite being Mourinho’s big transfer request for €18.6m, Quaresma barely featured for the Nerazzurri and was shipped off on loan to Chelsea in January 2009. He was eventually sold to Turkish outfit Besiktas for a reported €7m.

“I still haven’t understood some things that happened with him. As soon as I arrived in Milan, it was made clear to me that I was only signed because Mourinho wanted me.

“Then, suddenly, I stopped playing. It’s true I wasn’t at my physical peak and watching the games back on television I didn’t even recognise myself, but if a Coach requests you and then doesn’t help in your time of need...

“Mou said on television that I let myself get intimidated by the Inter fans, but I was never afraid of them. I’m not even scared of the supporters here in Turkey, where there is even more media pressure than in Italy.

“The truth is that I spent a very delicate phase of my life in Italy. It would’ve been better if I had closed my eyes and only woken up now.”

If anything people are underrating Pastore.
There's a lot of people creaming in their shorts over Pastore right now. But sheesh -- if you look at his hattrick this weekend, anybody but Janet could have scored three goals with the kind of setup and assists he got. :pado:
