Saturday 16 October, 2010 Moratti: 'Messi to Inter is not a joke'
Massimo Moratti admits he was joking when he said he’d bring Leo Messi to Inter, “but now I am starting to really ask myself that question.”
This week the President told fans he would sign the Barcelona hero in January as a present to the club, but the comments sparked so much speculation that it turned into a serious proposition.

“So many people are asking me to buy a world class, quality player. Messi is the strongest of them all,” Moratti told the Gazzetta dello Sport during a Press conference in Bahrain.

“I am starting to really ask myself that question: to buy him or not? I haven’t yet been able to give myself an answer, either yes or no.”

The Nerazzurri had also been linked with a sensational swoop for former Milan star Kaka, currently unhappy at Real Madrid.

“No, we never really negotiated for Kaka,” admitted Moratti.

Signing Messi would be an incredible coup, but also a very difficult one, as the buy-out clause on his contract is €250m.

His wages are also an obstacle at €10m net per season.

However, it is reported that Moratti met with Messi’s father on a couple of occasions and it was made clear that if 'The Flea’ were to leave Barcelona, he’d certainly appreciate the Inter option.

It's difficult but like i've said before Moratti can actually buy Messi if he really wants to. And If Barca are willing to sell, that move can actually happen.
Do you really think barca would sell when Messi is still firing on all cyclinders? Considering his age, he's still yet to reach his peak.
