If that argument held water, Inter would have won the Champions League by now. They already have the most obscene bench in Serie A. Throw more money on the pile, and how much more are you really going to get out of this? I mean, even the Real Madrid Galacticos strategy has proven out to be a failure -- and how long and how many millions has it been since they last competed in a CL Final again??
What I like about this sport is that money helps a lot, but money isn't everything. Teams like Greece can win the Euro on teamwork, not big names. Teams like Juve win because they bring the best out of their players with a winning mentality -- over and above what the players might individually be capable of.
Inter's strategy is like the USA Olympic baskeball team stuffing its ranks with NBA All-Stars, only to have their egotistical asses handed to them by better teams with lesser stars -- the likes of Spain, Argentina, etc. The moment this sport simply awards trophies to the highest bidder is the moment that the suspense will die and the sport will become meaningless to me.
