Lippi: I Will Never Coach Milan
Marcello Lippi has closed the door shut on a possible move to Milan, and says that the only two teams he could ever coach in Italy are Juventus and the Azzurri.

Lippi has been on a two year sabbatical since winning the World Cup with Italy in the summer of 2006.

The 60-year-old has stated on numerous occasions that he would be returning to the bench in time for next season, and he has been strongly linked with taking over at Milan.

However Lippi has made it perfectly clear that he could never boss the Rossoneri as he believes it would be a betrayal due to his links with old club Juventus, who he enjoyed stunning success with during two spells.

"The national team and Juventus were the two big love stories in my life as a coach,” Lippi told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“They are the only two Italian benches where I could go back to work.

“Milan are a club who have made the history of Italian football and Berlusconi and Galliani are great leaders. But I could not betray my two great loves.”

Lippi has also been linked with a sensational return to the Italy bench after Euro 2008, but he says this is an unlikely occurrence at this stage.

“With regards to Italian football, for the moment, the door is closed," he concluded.

And that doesn't include those players' wages.
Just where in the ^#$ is all this money coming from? It certainly ain't TV purses from Champions League play, that's for sure. Financial dealings like that smack of some real illegal dealings. The kind that have demoted clubs if not penalized them plenty of points...

Where can fans call upon an investigation from CONI?

All investigations would lead them to his oil rigs, now whether he 'rigged' that who knows.

btw i put the 'rigged' like that so people get that its a double entendre.

I'm not convinced any of it is illegal, though it wouldn't surprise me.

I assume it is just from Moratti's personal fortune.

Really worried about Mourinho taking over at inter.

We might see a very big domination next season, just when i (and probably many others) thought next year we really will challenge for the scudetto. But now.....

Inter have the money and Mourinho will lure some world class players to join inter. Names likes Eto and Queresma coming up, and lets not even start with his chelsea boys or the ones who seem to follow him (carwalho).

Inter could very well become The Powerhouse now.

I know some will say this is good for the league general, more popularity bla bla, but to be honest i dont even care what other league followers think about serie a. But i have to say, i wouldnt like to see him dominating the league, the way he dominated on his first season at chelsea :scared:

But maybe, with many quality players joining inter, this might influence quality players to join other italian clubs as well.

But as i said before, i dont see us having a chance next season. Now i am even more worried about our transfer policy, i am not too sure about our defence, and with CL football, there will be more tired legs.

I share youre worries, but i really dont see inter ever turning into a powerhouse even with the special one, they will choke in europe thats for sure .

We will go further into the CL, mark my words.

As for the serie A its not just inter who are getting stronger most big serie a teams are, the violas are one heck of a team now and milan and samp are on their way.
Im sure we will improve drastically come august 31st, but i never saw us winning the serie a anyways, maybe the cup and a good run in CL, this will get us back on track financially and come the following season we could start our ownage again.

Oil

The higher the oil prices go up, the more Inter will spend on players.

Check this shit out.

Mourinho will arrive to Milan tonight and presentation will be tomorrow.

Inter plans

54mln euros for Mourinho's contract
60mln euros to Mancini and some to staff
Eto'o 40mln euros
Deco 15mln euros
Essien 30mln euros
Lampard 9mln
Carvalho 18mln
Quaresma 40mln
I was expecting something like "Seeing Inter fail for the umpteenth time - priceless" in the end. :D

I meant CONI, not Connie. ;)

If that argument held water, Inter would have won the Champions League by now. They already have the most obscene bench in Serie A. Throw more money on the pile, and how much more are you really going to get out of this? I mean, even the Real Madrid Galacticos strategy has proven out to be a failure -- and how long and how many millions has it been since they last competed in a CL Final again??

What I like about this sport is that money helps a lot, but money isn't everything. Teams like Greece can win the Euro on teamwork, not big names. Teams like Juve win because they bring the best out of their players with a winning mentality -- over and above what the players might individually be capable of.

Inter's strategy is like the USA Olympic baskeball team stuffing its ranks with NBA All-Stars, only to have their egotistical asses handed to them by better teams with lesser stars -- the likes of Spain, Argentina, etc. The moment this sport simply awards trophies to the highest bidder is the moment that the suspense will die and the sport will become meaningless to me.

Well i have never really considered inter as big contenders for CL trophy. They always somehow self-destruct. But i am not one of those who come up with "its in their bones or dna bla bla". But that has clearly been the case, just think about their red cards in europe and getting owned at home and the "panic" in the players minds.

But now they have Mourinho, yes he didnt won the CL with Chelsea, but we all saw the success he had in the short period of time in other competitions with Chelsea, beside the respect from the players, the unbeaten runs, building on Chelsea to be the force in Europe.

And the money point. Last seasons CL final proves this point also, 2 teams who made some big signings made the final.
