Honestly, I wasn't all that impressed with Maicon...the guy is great going forward, but he is hardly the best defender you've ever seen...Zambro when in form is still the better RB

I agree. Maicon isn't that good at defending. When Zambro is on form he is the best full back in the world.

Madrid Include Saviola In Cannavaro And Cassano Deal

Napoli were offered more than they bargained for when Real Madrid said that they would only discuss a move for Fabio Cannavaro and Antonio Cassano if Javier Saviola was included in any deal.

Los Merengues are keen to off-load the Argentinian striker after he proved to be a flop during his first season at the Bernabéu since moving from Barcelona on a free transfer last summer.

With a tally of only three goals and two completed games for Madrid, Saviola is now seen as surplus to requirements not least because of his annual salary of €5m.

While Napoli are keen to take Cannavaro back and try and persuade Cassano to join them, a deal could be pushed through if they consider taking the unexpected third party.

Saviola himself is not keen to leave Madrid, but has admitted that if it is made clear that he is no longer required then he will consider listening to other clubs.

After being left out of Argentina's recent squads by coach Alfio Basile, the striker now recognises that if he stays then he could miss out on the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa.

Madrid's sporting director, Pedja Mijatovic, would rather see Cassano go to Napoli rather than see him join Sampdoria as a stepping stone to then be sold on immediately to either Inter or Juventus.

I doubt if this deal would go ahead as Cassano will most probably stay at Sampdoria..but if it does go ahead, this would be incredible for Napoli.A club icon back,an Argentine who would be loved beyond belief, and a player who has rediscovered himself..Napoli could be the surprise package for next season.

his defending is pretty good too imo, in one on one situations its almost impossible to get past him

Sergio Ramos dice hola!

He is best in Serie A though, for sure.
Sergio Ramos is fantastic, but he's too rash for my liking.

Reports: Mancini Out, Mourinho In
There are widespread reports throughout Italy that this afternoon’s meeting between Roberto Mancini and Massimo Moratti ended after just 20 minutes, with the outcome being that Mancini has left San Siro, to be replaced by Jose Mourinho.

it's also on channel4.

Reports: Mancio out at Inter

This afternoon’s meeting between Roberto Mancini and Massimo Moratti ended in just 20 minutes and there are rumours that the Inter boss’ reign is over.

The speculation over Mancio’s future has been growing in intensity since he attempted to resign after the Nerazzurri’s Champions League exit against Liverpool in March.

Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho has consistently been touted as a replacement this summer and that suggestion has been supported by reports that the ex-Chelsea man has been learning Italian.

However, Moratti has repeatedly insisted that he wants to keep Mancini in the hot seat and had played down talk of today’s meeting being used to discuss the Coach’s exit.

But after Mancini walked out of a private residence in Milan after 20 minutes and refused to comment on the outcome, there have been reports that his contract has been rescinded.

There have also been unconfirmed rumours that Inter director Marco Branca is in Portugal this afternoon to finalise terms with Mourinho, who could take over the reigns within a fortnight.

As yet there have been no statements from either side, but the calcio world waits with baited breath.

Nightmares are going to happen:

Essien, Carvalho, Drogba, Lampard and Quaresma to sign for Inter.
You don't really think that Chelsea will sell their 4 best players ?
Abramovich will not let them go. Mostly one of them will be alowed to leave.
