Not better at all, probably even worse, but the impression i got here in July and August was that "We had the shittiest mercato ever and we'll play in UEFA Cup" while Milan had "the best mercato of all time and they'll win everything".
Similar was said about Fiorentina's mercato.

When i , or Jack, or anyone else was laughing at this we weren't saying that Juve had a good mercato, we were laughing at Milan's "amazing, mouthwatering mercato" on which we could only envy Milan.

P.S: Seriously.....people were saying that Milan had a much better team than us anyway and they had a light years better mercato than ours.
When we were playing Real or Chelsea or Zenit in CL, Milan was using the B squad in UEFA Cup, resting the main guys for their main objective serie A. When we were playing midweek against Napoli and Lazio in Coppa, they were resting their players because they were eliminated in the first Coppa round.
How come they are equal with us on points then?
Actually you were just laughing at the sake of it. Milan made few good signings that's why they were getting those "praises". Everyone who praised those signings were aware of Milan's huge mistake at the same time, which was: not signing good defenders.

Milan indeed has a better squad than Juve, the same squad that won the CL few years back. Milan had serious injury problems, just like Juve, but the injuries they got were more effective than ours, because they missed the most importing players on injury, unlike us.

Are you sure about this?

Are you counting Nesta?
Nesta was injured for the whole second part of last season and Milan knew that there are great chances that Nesta might not play football again. As it turned out it was true and he didn't play at all this year.
But it wasn't unexpected. He was out half a year before this season started and they knew that they had the whole summer to replace him. They didn't.
You shouldn't count Nesta for Milan just like one shouldn't count Andrade for Juve.

Pirlo out for 3 months = Sissoko out for 3 months

Gattuso played the first 15 rounds and he's out for the last 23 rounds = Camoranesi played 13 matches so far and missed 19 matches so far.

Borriello out from November = Trezeguet missed half a season and Amauri missed 2 months

Abbiatti out for the last 2 months = Buffon missed almost half a season

How did you conclude that they were missing more important players?

Juventus hit with fan ban
Monday 20 April, 2009
Juventus have paid a heavy price for racist chants directed at Mario Balotelli during the Derby d'Italia.

Balotelli was jeered by large sections of the Stadio Olimpico crowd during Saturday evening's 1-1 draw.

However, a small number of fans took things further and hurled racial abuse at the Italy Under-21 international.

Sporting judge Gianpaolo Tosel has taken a hard line as Italy continues to try and tackle racism and has imposed a game behind closed doors for Juve.

The game in question will be the fixture with relegation strugglers Lecce on May 3.

While the decision will be applauded by many as a measure against racism in calcio, it may prove controversial.

Balotelli has reported racist abuse from several sets of fans this season but the clubs in question have only received fines.
Well isn't that nice. So now we have the scum too.

It's about time Serie A sorted out it's problems.
I am ashamed by those rasicist fans: instead of fake apologies, Juve should show a firm hand and actively root out this cancer, before it takes root and infest the club, like some many others in Italy.

this will do nothing. menial disciplinary action against 1 side for 1 occasion is fruitless. honestly this is part of the culture of the sport/country. sadly it translates to wherever you go

Roma deny takeover talk

Roma have denied reports that former Mercedes owners the Frick family have tabled a bid for the club.

ItalPetroli - the Giallorossi's parent company owned by the Sensi family - have debts of nearly £400m and there has been regular speculation that ownership will change.

There were reports in the Italian Press this morning that Roma were considering a bid from the Frick family, but the club have denied the story.

“ItalPetroli can confirm that they know nothing of any concrete interest from the Frick family,” a statement on Roma's website reads.

“The contact that has taken place is provisional and to evaluate all eventual options.

“Whatever happens ItalPetroli will always consider the interests of the football club and their partners and a divorce between Roma and the Sensi family is not imaginable.”
