Fred, Rosicky (and Hleb for that matter too, but I don't care about him) used to be the leading player on his team. He would score decisive goals, much like Van Der Vaart has been doing. When you sign a player like that you expect him to have a serious impact. Not a bit part player who is completely ineffectual. How has he carried that torch after his transfer? Completely marginal.

You ruined him just like you ruined Lauren.
True about Rosicky, but like i said, he's been unlucky with injuries, he's barely played for us at all in these two seasons, how could you judge him??

Hleb's having his best season so far imo, he's been one of our best players this season, i can understand Rosicky..but for you to say Hleb's career stagnated with us, is quite an outrageous thing actually.

As for Lauren, i've always thought he was an overrated player, i dont know why he was such a favorite among Gooners, i was quite happy when Eboue took over from him to be honest.

Two seasons is not too soon to judge a player. And injuries aren't an excuse, everyone has injuries. The question is what has he done when he's been playing? Almost nothing, right? And this is the most talented player of a Czech generation who used to be one of the biggest players in the Bundesliga (such as it is) and have a real impact in the CL, both for Sparta Prague and later Dortmund.

I saw him at Mallorca and he was excellent. Like a faster version of Seedorf with just as much skill. In 1999 in the Cup Winner's Cup final against Lazio he owned that right wing completely.

I saw him at Arsenal a few years later. He was completely transformed. Couldn't do anything with the ball. What the hell did you do to him?

Apparently the kiss of death for a skillful player is Arsenal.

IMO, Hleb is one of the best players ATM around.

He can play more than a position.... his passing and crossing is out of this world... his ball control is magic, vision, stamina...he's a complete player If you ask me.

Lippi lead the Azzurri to glory in Germany, where they defeated France on penalties in the final to claim their third World Cup trophy.

And the Italian believes they can emulate Les Bleus, who won both the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000, even though Italy are pooled in the Group of Death with France, Holland and Romania.

“I know the lads who will take part in this tournament very well and firmly believe Italy can win it,” said Lippi.

Scudetto Race

Meanwhile, Serie A is tightening up as Inter Milan seek to maintain their four-point advantage over Roma heading into this weekend’s clash with Fiorentina at the San Siro.

But Lippi believes the Nerazzurri can hold the Giallorossi at bay to claim their third successive Scudetto.

“At the end of the day I think Inter will be able to make the most of the negativity that surrounded their elimination from Europe to find the right motivation and maintain the advantage over Roma,” he said.

Chelsea Champs?

Neither side will be challenging for the Champions League title, however, in a semi-final stage devoid of an Italian presence and flooded with English clubs.

And Lippi has tipped Chelsea, who meet Liverpool in a Champions League semi-final for the third time in four seasons, to go on to glory in Moscow this May.

“At this moment in time Manchester United have shown they are in the best shape," he said. "However, between them, Liverpool, Barcelona and Chelsea I get the feeling the Blues will win the trophy.”

Fair enough. Rosicky hasnt produced his best form with us.

Obviously me and you are talking about a different player...Lauren, skillful?? I've heard it all.

Lauren was voted the best rightback in the league for three straight seasons with us. Theres no way you can argue he wasnt successful with us. Having said that, i was never really convinced by him.

I know you dislike Arsenal, but this is just clear as daylight bias. Theres no objectivity whatsoever in that statement. We have a reputation for transforming small players into stars, Vieira, Henry, Pires, Cesc, Overmars and Anelka all good examples. Hopefully Vela, Walcott, Clichy and Flamini will follow suit soon.

Exactly, you destroyed him.

I admit I was baiting you, but it's fun :D The fact is you've had your share of failures with these players. Lauren, Rosicky, Reyes, Kanu...

:agree: if he could add an ability to shoot to his game he would be sensational

I wouldn't consider Kanu as a flop over there, he made some significance to their team, I would say someone more like Alialialialidiere a flop.
or Francis Jeffers, now that guy was an expensive flop. he made it up to us fans when he stomped on Phil Neville's face though.

If he could grow a pair of oysters he'd be greater

I am watching Lazio only because Genoa - Torino have a huge shadow covering half the playing field. I will switch to Genoa at half time. Damn Udinese and their TV rights, their match against Roma was the best to watch.
